How Big is your curoisty bump

not perfect, you will need this to aid in your imagination of my story

I have a curiosity bump the size of the empire state building. If I were a cat, I would have died by now.

The background above is the view out our window on the world that we watch if we are awake/alive.

Episode 1:Sitting with laptop, bob with tv remote, beau asleep, I heard screaming sirens and more than one, I jumped up to watch out the window and as it got closer and LOUDER, and GONE in a split second were the TWO FBI/CIA Tahoe's, and One City cop so close they were almost touching, a harmony consisting of 3 sirens, the big black chevies had blue flashing dash and under the headlight flashing blue light. EVERY CHASE I ever saw in the action movies I loved, played in my head and I sat down with laptop and went to the County 911 calls that are there for all to see. NOTHING Showed.

these questions were in my mind. Does the Big Black Tahoe use Federal 911? who told the cop to come with them?  I never found the reason, no news anywhere. How could I search? I still want to know.

Episode 2: While walking Beau in Bray Park at 7:09 still not quite daylight, 2 of the new White ad blue Suv's they now drive, came rolling about 30 mps in the 15 MPH park with no sound, but both had flashers on top, sides and rear, doing the same thing as the first cars, but silent. I said, since they are leaving the park, I assume there is nothing going on in the park, we can finish our walk.

the minute I hit the door, I went to the 911 calls and there it was. what a disappointment. under reason for call out, police incident, no details, and the address was vicinity of 2 streets that are far enough away they would not get there for a good 4 minute. I still want to know what happened. Nothing on the news?

Episode 3: In the above photo, behind the tree there is a porch, I saw the woman come out and put up 3 helium balloons, blue and white, and a lot of other decorations and a large cardboard sign hanging on the wall. I could not read it... I got my 60 zoom Nikon and through the window read the sing to bob. it said, Welcome Home, Mom and Dad and baby Josiah.

I said to Bob, they have another baby, I did not know she is pregnant, their other baby is 18 months old. Glad its not me. There are five adults in the house. Bob doesn't care. I had to know what the sign said

HOW BIG IS YOUR CUROSITY BUMP? WOULD YOU DO WHAT I DID? NOW THAT YOU KNOW ABOUT 911 WILL YOU USE IT?   ANYONE REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED TO JIMMY STEWART IN THE MOVIE REAR WINDOW?

So how do you find the 911 calls on the computer? And yes, you know how curious I am! Let me know if you ever find this out; I have a feeling you won't give up

I'm curious too! I hope you can get some answers.

Privacy laws in the UK prevent us seeing emergency calls current. It would not occur to me to look into something like that. Doesn't mean I lack a curiosity bump! Oh, and Rear Window is one of my fave Hitchcocks... and JS character turns out to be right about what he's seen! YAM xx

On my phone I get notifications from our equivalent of 911, but they only include traffic accidents and fires. One can then see on a map where, but no other details. Our local newspaper also has a news app (that I subscribe to, together with the e-version of the daily printed newspaper) that may provide a bit more info on "flash news". I don't think my "curiosity bump" is all that big unless I see/hear something seriously worrying close to home - which, thankfully, does not happen all that often. All sounds reminding of explosions or gun shots have me worrying, though.

I must confess that my curiosity bump is probably barely a pimple when it comes to stuff like this. I am probably less aware than I should be much of the time.

Hello,
I am only curious when it is something happening outside my windows. Most of our neighbors are all elderly so I assume a siren is coming to help someone. We have had a forest fire and a drowning at the lake which drew a lot of emergency vehicles.
Take care, have a great day!

Where we live, just on the other side of those trees beside Still Waters Pond, is a very noisy 4 lane highway! (I know, it kind of spoils the bucolic atmosphere of Still Waters Pond, but that's life in this world...you enjoy what you can). We see and hear sirens/red lights flashing all day long (and night too). Hubby would love to go see where they are going. Thankfully we don't have a police scanner, because if we did, it would be going off all the time driving me more nuts than these muscovy ducks. If they do happen to come into our neighborhood, we have been known to take a ride to find out where they went, but only when my hubby (who used to be a "cop" in one of his former lives before being a preacher) just can't sit still and has to know what's going on. I'm just thankful they aren't stopping here at our house! LOL. This was an entertaining post. Yes, I am curious too, but too lazy to go see.

I have a large curiosity bump. I like to know what's going on. I need to know how to find the 911 thing on the computer. I would and have done what you did. There was something on my neighbors porch one time that I couldn't figure out what it was. I didn't get the camera out but I did grab Wade's binoculars to find out. I make sure I stand back from the window so I can't be seen spying...lol

Living smack-dab downtown, a block from major hospital, another block from the courthouse, another from city jail ... police station: it's constant sirens 24/7, on all streets and we've had our share of "real 911" stuff nearby! Have gotten used to the NOISE, almost tune it out (like I do our internal fire alarms which go off weekly or more often due to too many seniors in the bldg who panic while cooking and open their apt doors and bam/bam/thanks/mam, another FALSE alarm ... I now refuse to walk down 16 flights of stairs for NOTHING!) ... blah, blah, blah. Aside from city stuff: the whole world is ON FIRE, in PANIC MODE so what's a little bit of chaos on any city street ... BTW it was probably a bunch of those nasty ICE agents after yet another college student ...

My curiosity bump is pretty big too. I'd be watching like you and looking at the scanner calls to see what happened. But far too often I never find out!

I often see things that arouse my curiosity but rarely find the answers.

Okay...so now, we are depending on you to finish the story...We have to know why all the sirens? Why the cars? and what was going on! You will definitely have to update us. I'm thinking you just might be a good detective...

The Nextdoor App serves that purpose for me. When anything happens I can count on someone posting details. I listen to a scanner during fire season - plus my sons seem to always know what’s going on around town.

I confess when it comes to people outside I'm not curious. When it comes to taking macro shots of things in the woods, outside and inside, that's where I like to explore.

Your first paragraph made me chuckle out loud. Yep, we're cast from the same template!
I need to know where/how to Google 911 calls, too. Either than or spend good money for a police scanner -- which, with my luck -- would scramble anything faintly interesting.
Can't wait to hear the Rest of the Story!

Yes, we have a scanner on all the time in Dave's office. He follows local police and fire.
I am always curious about any sirens we hear and the cars that go by. We are very close to the freeway.. Noise wise so we hear things as they fly down the road.
Gotta keep up on things...(:0)

We, Millie & Walter, are always curious about what is going on around us and we often bark to let our parents know of certain events like the neighbors walking down the street. Our mom is always curious about sirens and things like that but we don't hear them very often where we live since we're kind of in the country.

Those were very interesting moments for your curiosity to question. I certainly would want to know something if it was going on in front of my house. I think if I was walking in the park and saw what you saw I would be extremely nervous about what they were looking for.

Our Mom has a very big curiosity bump too. She would love to follow police cars and fire engines to see what is happening, but we all know that is not safe. It used to be possible here to see online what the police scanners were saying, but now they are all blocked and we only get one or two word descriptions - not fun!!! We think we would all love to know what role the FBI had in this one.

I have that big curiosity bump too. The 911 site isn't available up here, nothing like it. We are on the path emergency responders take and we never hear what is going on. The local new hardly coveres anything local, especially if it's bad.

I love to know what is going on myself. How did you know it was FBI and CIA? How do you find the 911 calls? If that happened in my neighborhood I'd want to know too!

Haha, I get the curiosity bump! The chase scene with no answers is so frustrating. And I’d totally zoom in on that sign too! As for 911, I’d probably just let the pros handle it. Rear Window vibes for sure!

I have NO curiousity bump. I live in my own world and don't give a damn about anyone else.
