Refresher of Bob's issue with treatment. Bob came home from hospital April 1st, he was told to contact the neurologist for eval and treatment, the first appt open was August 20. They put his name on standby for earlier appt if they had a cancelation. Even with home PT, he got worse each day.
June 11th, I contacted primary doctor for help and was told to print list of neurologists on health plan and call until I found an appt sooner, then call them with the name and they would send the referral.
There were 4 offices, all easy for me to reach.
I called Palmasola Neurology Assoc because it was the closest one and across the street from our dog park. 5 minute drive.
BINGO! First call and Appt person said, July 3rd, but we need referral before I can lock it in. My doctor sent the referral same day and we were so happy
June 16, I called to verify they had received the referral and to make sure the July 3 was locked in.
The nicest young man, verified and ask for info and filled out most on line, and he said
"we will see you on July, oh hold on a minute. We just got a cancelation for tomorrow, June 17th at 1 pm, would you like that time?
YES! Please.
fast forward to this morning, 9AM June 17th, Bob asked if he had time to get in the pool and I got him in the pool
and I sat down to watch him, the phone rings, the lady says, we just had a cancelation, can you get Robert here by 10 his morning?
We dragged him out of the pool, dried and dressed, I yanked off my gown and dabbed powder on the browns spots we were that at 5 minutes to10.
the office is runs like a Swiss watch! Wow, we done-and-gone in under and hour.
I rolled Bob to the door and we were stuck, the thingy on the door sill would not let me push over it.
3rd try and Ira, a perfect gentleman, said here hold this and handed me a bag and tried to dump bob out by manhandling the chair. I said turn it around and back him in.
He kept pushing, the front desk guy came and said, let me do this, ALWAYS back over anything that's in the way, and rolled Bob inside. Ira said, sorry she told me to try that. I said, Video on You tube said that.
much laughter.
We were in and out an on our way so quickly it was amazing~PLUS the same guy who rolled Bob in, Backed him out for me... YAY~
The doctor had Read the reports from the hospital site,
he examined and tested his legs and arms, and did dementia testing
AND ORDERED THE DRIP WE NEED TO TREAT CIDP (CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY DEMYELINATING POLYNEUROPATHY) diagnosed by hospital on APRIL 1st.
Bob will get 2 IV drips for one hour, 2 days the first week and 1 every 3 weeks for 3 months.
And he said you should see a difference after the first 2.
Beat the drum roll again. Are you ready?
The place we go for treatment is next door to this doctor, but the news gets better. Its a new office and they will
COME TO OUR HOUSE and do the drips until the new office is completed and inspected.
By the time we have to go to the office he might be able to walk in and not a chair.

Oh Sandra! This is the best post ever! Everything that happened is an answer to prayer!
Oh my GOSH, this is really a miracle!!!! I am so happy for you! what is in the drip anyway? I do not remember hearing this long name for a diagnosis, I am going to Google it!!
I'm glad to hear everything is working out well right now, but it makes me sad and angry to think if you hadn't been pro-active with your primary care doctor Bob would have waited for months before getting the treatment he needs. There is something very wrong with a system that requires so many hoops to jump through to get a necessary treatment. All fingers and paws are crossed the treatment helps Bob.
That's great news they'll come to the house. Must make you both very happy indeed! #HappyTuesday
Such wonderful news all around!!! We hope things continue to go well. Hope springs eternal.

Wonderful answer to many prayers!! This is the best and greatest news ever!!! Praise God!!!!
That is really terrific news, things sure came together just right!
Well Praise the Lord! Wow, that is wonderful news and definitely an answer to so many prayers. I'm happy for you all.
Wow...God did some awesome things for Bob and you today.. This is great news and to think that if he had been able to get in around the first of May, he might be walking now. But, God's timing is always perfect....So happy that this all happened today,.
PERFECT DEFINITION OF A MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you!
What excellent news! I'm so very, very glad and yes, The Good Lord is very good.
That is FANTASTIC news! Everything is falling into place. I am so happy for you all and hope the treatments help and go well!
This is wonderful news. I bet you're walking on air.
So happy for you! Thank you for sharing this great news.
Sandra that is blooming marvellous. It is such a huge relief isn't it when someone else steps up and says 'oh yes we have an answer for that and here's what we are going to do - and when and how. (I see what you mean about green in the pool!)
There still are good people in this world. I am glad that things turned out so well, Sandra. I am sure that Bob is happy, too, and the prospect of being able to walk again must be very encouraging for him. I hope that your good fortune continues. As for backing a wheeled device over a hump this seems to always have been the prescribed method for me. Even when I worked on a farm in the summer when I was in high school, we pulled a wheelbarrow over the lip of the barn door rather than trying to push it over. It was easier and far more stable making in less likely to tip the wheelbarrow and its load.
sometimes life is a kind of tetroís and all things fit in at the right place... for more of such good news!!
Thanks, Sandra, for the detailed update and it all sounds like good news especially the fact that you will not have to bring Bob to the office.
I know I already commented on this yesterday but you came up in my feedly feed so I'm commenting again under my other google account. This is the best news ever. How awesome that they will even come to your house until they are done with the new office.
We are happy dancing here!!! What wonderful news!!!
God is Good!!!
Hello Sandra,
Happy Dance time, it sounds like everything went well at the doctors office and is a perfect place for you and Bob to go for the appointments.
And it is even better that the IV Drip will be done at home, awesome news. Take care, have a great day!
WOW, that's really good news, that you'll get help/treatment much sooner than expected. (And well done you for being persistent with research and phone calls and what not.) Sounds to me almost like an episode from the hosptial series I'm currently watching on Netflix - New Amsterdam... If you're not familiar with it its' about a NY public hospital and a group of doctors (and one in particular) often using unconventional methods to bend rules and get around various administration problems...
What an AMAZING turn of events and what amazing blessing to you both !!!!! AWESOME. Dawn P. Albany, GA USA
I'm in tears. This is a huge blessing you received and I pray that this will improve Bob's issues. ((HUGS))
🤞🙏👏
Fantastic news. So good to hear that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck for the future.
