Bob fell getting out of the pool on July 11, next day, he tried to walk and fell again, and ER put this cast on at noon on July 12 after X ray showed a crackle in the outside long bone of his ankle.
WE are caught in a healthcare drama/nightmare, he was moved to orthpedic to get further test to see if he needed surgery.
Two day later, nope, no surgery, and he can't put in pressure at all on the ankle for 6 weeks. He laid in that bed, for 4 nights, 3 days trying to get him in a rehab unit. Nothing else was done, he was just there.
He was transported to a Rehab Facility Wed July 15 at 5:30 pm and the nightmare we had been in during those days started and was worse. He has been there 2 nights 2 days and the care in the hosptial and now in the rehab is pretty much nil to none unless I am there to nag and remind and occasionally lose my cool.
I have been with him all this time sitting in a hard straight chair, from 7 to 5 every day not daring to leave. no details but never leave your loved one unattended if that person is helpless. I am shocked to my core over the condition of our hospital and rehab. I had to run back and forth letting Beau in and out twice a day, and I do not have time to blog or email or or text or call..
I am beyond exhausted and will not be updating unless something bad happens. Bob will be there for 6 weeks, he thinks he is there for a few days. Thank you for all the emails and comments and I did read them all, but will not be updating. I do update Ann and Ginny, and have told them they can update, but I just am in no shape to answer questions.
I might just right a TV Show from this some day.. Love you all miss you all and wish I could keep up with those of you that have a spouses and loved ones going through crisis health at the same time as mine.
The infusions are canceled, and I still have to pay the 2000, for the 2 that he got, but he will not get the 3rd one on the 28th. Please please do not tell me to take care of myself. I am doing that as much as possible.
there is nothing anyone can do but pray. I will read your comments, I can do that on my phone while I sit on the hard chair with swollen feet listening to Bob say he is going home.... Do not be shocked if/when I come back at how many drawings I have done on iPad, sitting in the stupid chair

Thinking of you.
Praying for both of you and wishing there was something we could do to help. I'm asking God to send you some special "angels" to help make your situation more comfortable. Also praying for Beau. (((hugs)))
I am glad you are there with Bob, looking after him. The healthcare system is not the best. I hope you do not have anything bad happen, I keep trying to think positive. Sending prayers for Bob, you and Beau!
I am praying for all of you day and night everyday. May God watch over all of you and I am praying that things can get better at some point. This is such a difficult time. (((HUGS)) Please take care of yourself. Bob and Beau need you.
I'm thankful you posted, I've been wondering how you both were and have been praying. I'll be praying for all of you!
Yes, care in hospitals and facilities is certainly not like it used to be. It's very sad.
I carry a chair cushion in the car with me, and take it in places with hard chairs. It really helps my hips. It is like a thick kitchen chair pad. That is all I can think to maybe help or nag, whichever way you will take it! I love you so much!!
Hi hi hi! Ojo here. We are sending much care, and licks and good thoughts.
Thanks for letting us know. We understand about the emails. Good idea to have Ginny and Ann handle the details.
I agree with you staying and watching Bob. We have to be our own advocates for our loved ones. Wish they would do number 3 IV's if that was the last one.
Poor Beau.
Praying for all.
❤️ Thanks for letting us know where you are at.
thank you Sandra...Bryan and I have you, Bob and Beau in our prayers each day.
Love and hugs

The only way now is up`
Thinking good thoughts and praying for all of you. Hugs.
You, Bob and Beau are in my prayers...and thoughts.
If this is the care (none care) he is receiving then you can call the ombudsman for the facility to report your complaint and something will hopefully be done about it. That kind of none care is beyond reprehensible in a care facility. In Michigan it would likely be the cause for an investigation or even a shutdown.
A pain level of 10 is horrible...I pray it will come down a bit. Can you ask for a recliner for Bob, and then use it yourself??
Maybe the staff would be more helpful if they would put themselves in Bob's shoes...if they truly cared they would.
