Snatches of This/That

This is what greeted me when I opened the front door,Tuesday, after the cold front came in all night, it was 35 F and the winds gusted to 40 MPH all night.
It blew the basket that sit on the bench rails out in the yard and turned over the big fern and stand and blew the pillow off on the sidewalk

It was so cold, I wore 2 shirts and my orange sweatshirt hoodie to walk Beau.  I wanted to send a selfie to my SIL and DIL to tell them about the WEATHER, and see what their WEATHER was like and since the first one
was.......ummmmmmm. a little scary.....I took another by stepping in the sliding glass door and accidental did a trick of shooting with light on me and dark room behind and doing what Happy Whisk did with her camera on purpose.
See IVY? I did it with my cell phone. quote from her lesson on making the background black and light on the front of whatever. yada yada
" I use inverse square law to create a black background. Inverse square law is the rate at which light falls off. "
Don't miss her lesson. THE Happy Whisk

I used inverse square law to create a black background. Inverse square law is the rate at which light falls off.
I am 100 % sure that whatever square law is, it made me look my age, showed every wrinkle and at least 10 years younger than I did in 2021. The light did not fall far enough off to hide the years written on my face

you look great and I love your smile... how sad that the wind caused a mess...

I think you look absolutely wonderful. Your smile is infectious.

Too bad about the mess but it looks like you have conquered the wind and all that it brings. As long as they are not hurricane force, that is. 😏 You don’t need any more of that!

Hello,
It has been cold and windy here too. Sorry you had to clean up the mess from the wind. Your selfie photos are cute! Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.

I love both your selfies... and the orange hoodie. I have one too. I may be a tad obsessed with that colour. Big winds are becoming something of a regular occurence now - sorry your plants got damaged. YAM xx

Hi Sandra :)
Sorry you had to clean up the mess the wind made. Here there are cold winds and rain too. It blows the plastic things like the watering can and brushes from one end of my balcony to the other. You look good in your selfie photos, I like the second one the best though.
Take care
Sonjia.

Hello to you. The wind must’ve been wild to knock over your basket and fern like that. Your selfie story is hilarious

O.K. you are sure more intellectual than me!! You are looking good, except you are pale!! I wish I could hug you, feed you, and tuck you into bed!!!! You do look good in orange though. We are on the second day of very high winds!

As I write this, we're experiencing a storm which includes wind gusts of 50 mph. Those gusts can be strong. Glad no other damage was caused. I like both your selfie photos! Good job!

It's a good thing you've got a big, strong dog to stop you blowing away.

Sandra, your smile is sweet and I wish there was more sparkle in your eyes, but hey you did fabulous selfies and you are beautiful both inside and out.

I'm soooo glad that storm didn't do more damage! I'm afraid that inverse square law is above my pay grade, but I love seeing your genuine pretty smile. Any day!

Hmmm, I shall have to check that out...about the square and the light, yhat is.
We've had windy conditions here, too, but not like yours. Wow, it sure did a lot of mischief!
I think you look good in your selfies, maybe you might look brighter in a sky blue kind of color, to set off your prety face and eyes! You do have a warm smile, just like your heart!

Your selfie is so cute. It does crack me up what you think of as cold is what we consider warm here. We had a windy day yesterday but nothing other than leaves blew around the yard.

In response to your question; I left a reply on my blog, but here it is for you :

If you have an iPhone, iPad or a mac computer/laptop, (iOS programs)when you look at an individual picture in your library in the top right corner you will see a button that says edit. Click that and it takes you to a kind of photo editing program. If it was a live photo, look at the bottom right and there is a button with drop down choices: live, bounce.loop; long exposure, none. Click bounce or loop, and it will become a gif, each of those two are what I used in this post.

I don’t know how that kind of thing works for android photos…

Hope that helps!

Wind and water can both do much good, or much damage.

You are beautiful.

Hi Sandra! We've had those same chilly temps and that same kind of wind here in northern Virginia and I was worried about our power getting knocked out - Thankfully it didn't.

But I agree with the others, you're a pretty lady, Sandra, and you have a beautiful smile - And because I've worked in dentistry for 30+ years, I know a beautiful smile when I see one!! 🥰

Have a good week!!

Burr, sounds cold. Sorry about the issues on the front porch. Those pictures of you are really cute. You lost me on how you took them.

Although I have no idea what you are talking about with the black background, etc., I'm glad you figured it out and showed us the results, which are cute. I like the original picture of you the best, however. I am sorry about the plant blowing over, etc., That was some powerful wind and cold we had last week. Now we are back to warmer weather as usual, and still no rain in sight. Very strange year!!! Thankfully no hurricanes, but still, a little rain would be nice. Take care my friend. It's always good to see your smiling face!!!
