This and That (POO) on Thankful Thursday

Bad News: the lid came off the oatmeal plastic storage container
Good News: I am thankful it only had a few cups left in it and none went on the floor.

Good News! Bob's hearing aids have not been the same since he was in the rehab home, 3 months and finally just quit. I called for an appt to get them repaired on the day the nurse would be with Bob during infusion and they had  no appts.
He said bring them by at 9 tomorrow, drop them off and we will call. This was good but not good since he is stone deaf without them.
Next morning I stood at the desk talking to the girl and the man and I was explaining he was home in the hospital bed, and can't hear anything until I get them back. The repair is usually about 10 minutes, either the microphone or the receiver. Been there done that.
The man said We will fit them in and took the box, the doctor popped out of his office, took the box and said to me, have a seat, I will have these ready in five minutes no more than 10. When he brought them back, he said it was the microphone, it needed deep cleaning and drying out and it fine now..
I stepped to the desk to pay (they are not under warranty) and the Doctor waved his hand at me and said, your good to go, no charge and I will pray for your husband.
Sometimes it pays to be a Chatty Cathy (blabber mouth).
Thank You Lord

I laughed long and loud, I am thankful for laughter. My precious Big Beau Boy following Bob and Linda the PT, like a pied Piper, he took every step. NO he is not protective of his daddy, he loves each of the visitors and Linda has 2 golden retrievers and smells like them and her pockets smell like treats. Plus, she really loves Beau.

Too cute with Beau following Bob and the PT. He's getting his exercise in too.
That's awesome that they fixed the hearing aids so quick and didn't charge you.

I am sure that you scooped up the oatmeal and placed in back in the container. Now that it has been aired and had a little flight it will taste even better. As for the hearing aids being repaired free of charge, it’s good to know that kindness still exists in this sometimes brutal world. Hooray for that.

That's good that they understood your situation when they met you in person, and were able to fit that repair in among what else they had to do. Smiling at the photos of Beau as well :)

OH, I LOVE this whole post, especially the pictures of Beau following the PT and Bob! What fun! But I also love that they fixed the hearing aids so quickly and at no charge! Yes, it does pay to be a "Chatty Cathy" sometimes! That was really kind of the man and also to add his blessings/prayers. All in all a very good day!!

Your doctor sounds like a really good man, living his faith.

Oh my, sweet Beau is the best! He's not only daddy's buddy, but wanna-be therapist, too.
I'm so touched by that doctor making time to fix Bob's hearing aid ... and offering a prayer, as well. The sun was definitely shining on you; I hope the Light is doing so again today.

I so love that kind heart of the doctor. What an answer to prayers.
Good to see Bob walking with the PT , Beau and his walker. Those legs are looking pretty thin. Glad he is getting exercise too.
Sometimes it sure pays to be a Chatty Cathy.. (:0)
What a mess that oatmeal would have been if it hit the floor.
That could have been me too.

Oh my, what a lovely thankful! There are many people who are "helpers" in this world. Sometime we need to search for them, other times they are there when we need them. God Bless You & Bob & Beau. Always in prayer for you, even when I am not stopping by. Take care.

What a blessing, to get the hearing aids fixed for free and to see Beau shadowing them. I'm also glad the oatmeal didn't land on the floor.

Chatting is a good thing, except when it's a boss keeping you from going home and you're tired and need to rest!

That was so sweet about the hearing aids. And Beau, of course, is priceless. Much love. :)

Wonderful that you got the hearing aids fixed quickly and pro bono! Bless that gentleman!
Beau made me grin! Our Dalton has to be put out of reach of visitors and peeps that come to fix things, as he will follow them too...to bite them, unfortunately. Benji loves everyone, but we keep him with Dalton to keep him company, LOL! (Dalton has unloaded baggage from former abuse before he was rescued...)

I enjoyed all the fun art and comments you made for them in yesterday's post.

Hi Sandra :)
All good news today. That kind doctor is old school , and Karma will be going his way. My late husband was stone deaf and I know how important it is to have hearing aids that actually work. He tried many that didn't until he found the right ones. I hope Bob's hearing aid works well now.

Hey Sandra, if that's all the bad news you had, it's a darn good day! It's great that you found a Christian doctor who waved the fee and hopefully follows threw with prayers for Bob. Hoping you've been having more good days.

But seriously, that story about the doctor fixing Bob's hearing aids right there and then, and then doing it for free and saying he'd pray for him, is just incredible. Sometimes those unexpected acts of pure kindness can totally turn a day around.
