While walking I found 2 leaves, ginormous Maple Leaves. I spent hours trying to get a shot to show you just how big....(POO perfectly ordinary object)

Eleven Inches Wide by Eight inches long!
I hid my face in shame.
Christmas Past 2025 a Santa and something Red
how we took selfies Before Cell Phones Took Over our Lives.
Christmas Past, In 2006 (we did have indoor bathrooms/WC and mirrors and tiny cameras.)
(NOTE: researchers, don't bother to see when smart phone came out, I already did it for you, 1992. But I got my first cell phone in 2005, not smart, not a real phone, a prepay to use on my 17 mile, 45 minute commute in Florida traffic to the job I stayed 1 year longer because of the commute and retired.
I finally caved in 2015 and got a tiny cheap smart phone and here I am with 4 cheap androids smartphones under my belt. I should say in my hand)
PS I paid $119 for the one I have now in 2023, and I LOVE IT.. all the others were under 100. I replace them about every 4 or 5 years.

We're sticking with flip phones, plus a WiFi iPhone for photos. Those are huge leaves! ❤️
We live in an area called Tree Streets. So we have a lot of Maples. And I have NEVER seen one this huge! And also, you do have leaves that turned a pretty color!
Wow, that is one huge maple leaf.
My first phone was a flip phone that Wade bought me for Christmas before we got married. I think just about every phone I've gotten has been a free upgrade phone. I'm cheap and refuse to spend tons of money on a phone

Love that leaf... and I only had a tiny Nokia mobile right up till returning to the UK, when I had to change handsets (2014); so got a little flipfone... and that lasted me until I got The Grey. Being out and about on the road, I had to have wifi access and that only came with a "smart phone"... so I got my Pixel then... 2023! Now, of course, I can't quite imagine life without it. YAM xx
I love the photos of you and the maple leaf, and the rest. We were late getting a flip phone but I can’t remember when we bought our first one. All I know is everyone we knew had one first. Always late to the party, lol!
Are you sure that isn't a sycamore tree leaf? Although the color is more like maple, the size looks like a sycamore tree. It's huge, none the less. And yes, selfies then and now are totally different. I don't remember what year I finally got a "smart phone", but I held off as long as I could. I never have paid more than $100. for mine either. We buy refurbished apple phones online and they have worked for a long time with no issues. I don't use my "real camera" nearly as much as I used to, only for long distance shots, but I don't do much of that anymore either it seems. The iPhone pictures seem to be what I do most because I like how fast they are and I can share them instantly! I enjoyed your post and your hiding behind the leaf. What fun! Have a lovely day my friend. I must go feed Blackie now. He's probably sitting outside my window in the dark and wondering why I am writing to you instead of feeding him. So good bye for now. LOL.
Hello,
That is a huge leaf! Love the selfies with you holding the leaf.
I started out with a cheap flip phone and then an iphone.
Take care, have a wonderful week ahead.
Finding pleasure and inspiration in small things is a gift.
Wow! That is a huge leaf! I loved all the photos of them.
Yes, selfies are different now. I used to always carry a camera with me, but now it's just the cell phone. I will have to replace mine soon and want to find one that has a better camera in it than my current phone.
What a wonderful Autumn leaf...especially for Florida!!
Since my Hubby is a computer dude AND younger than I am, I have been surrounded by "techie stuff" our whole marriage (25 years).
That leaf is huge. You're beautiful in red.
Have a fabulous day and week. Healing hugs all around and lots of scritches to handsome Beau. ♥
Our Catawba and Sycamore trees has huge leaves like that. On our property, the prettiest leaves are the Sweetgum and the Chincapin Oak. They are stunning in their Fall colors! They didn't do much this year because of the drought but I do have lots of photos of them.
That's funny about the selfies before smart phones. I have some of those with the digital camera too. It was all trial and error back in those days!
Love and prayers to you all cuz'n. ❤️
Wow that is a huge leaf.I don't believe I've ever seen one that large.
I want a camera to take landscapes of the mountains around here. I love my iPhone camera except it doesn't capture the glandular of those tall mountains.
I don't do selfies. They never turn out for me.
I love your Santa hat and that leaf is HUGE! You weren't joking when you told me about it last week. I LOOOOVE it.
PS: 100 buck phone for me too.
MS I love your header red is such a happy color.
I also love leaves...you found gorgeous ones too
Hugs cecilia
That's a leafy peek-a-boo. Did it come from a very old tree? Or did your neighborhood become a fantasy of Giant's World?
I also love the pics at the end with Santa Sandra and your camera pre-cells.
Those are some really BIG leaves.. They look so perfect though. I took a close look to see if they had a lot of differences...they do, but yet they still look alike. You look so very cute in the Christmas hat...move over Santa...Sandra might be taking your place. lol
Wow, that is really a big leaf! We don't replace our phones that often either. I love the pictures of you. Hope you are having a nice day.
Those are fun leaf photos and your header is so beautiful! Big hugs from all of us.
Wow, those are really BIG maple leaves...
Wasn't 2006 like 18 months ago? Wow. It's hard for me to imagine what life was like before smart phones.
I love how you bring a chuckle to these leaf selfies. Adam and Eve, stand aside!
I like all your Christmas reds and photos! I used to paint on huge maple leaves!
Those sure are big leaves. It's hard to believe it wasn't that long ago that "selfies" were taken using a mirror and not just your phone.
That was one HUGE leaf! Beautiful. My first phone was that phone in a box with a battery - it weighed a ton!
Spectacular leaves! I'm not a huge fan of smart phones, but they certainly are useful for work.
