Staghorn? or 401K?

You might wonder why I am putting the Staghorn Fern that is hanging in my back yard on my post. Listen up and I will tell you.

For years I admired the Staghorn plants, but never had one. About 5 years ago my son called and said his wife had inherited two Staghorn plants from an aunt who had recently died. He said they only had room for one, did I want the other one.
Imagine my surprise when I saw the size of the one he brought to me. It took two strong men to hang it in the oak tree in the front yard. Seems the plant weighs in at more than 100 pounds. It is till proudly hanging in my front yard. When my son moved to TN they gave me the other one, I had two in the oak tree.

At the beginning of this summer, we returned home and found the one above laying on the ground, the weight had broken the limb. My HeMan husband carried the 100 pound plus into the back yard and hung it on an old swing post. In doing that, a piece broke off. The small one in this picture is the little one he wrapped around a part of the limb that fell off the oak. It now has 2 new leaves or fronds, whatever they are called,
NOW the reason I am posting this. two days ago my husband was reading the want ads, and found this amazing fact. A 100 pound Staghorn for sale in the paper for FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS.
Shock! so now I have 2 large ones and a small one. A 401k hanging in my yard and did not know it. No taxes owed, no insurance needed. Whooppee!
