Yellow Poinciana

If you drive through any neighborhood in Bradenton, you will find one or more of these trees. They are also called Golden Flame and are aptly named. Today is how the tree looks when it first blooms, tomorrow post I will show you what happens when the gold starts to fade.
Yellow poinciana is a very showy flowering tree up to 50' tall, with wide-spreading branches that form an umbrella-like crown.

The above picture is not very clear, but shows you the size of them. these pictures were taken in the parking lot of a county park. there are more than 50 of these magnificent trees and they were all blooming at the same time.
The trees are God's great alphabet:With them He writes in shining greenAcross the world His thoughts serene.~Leonora Speyer

Click to find the bee. When in full bloom, almost every flower has it's on bee, I could actually hear them buzzing.

the flowers and buds are almost like hand made lace.

Alone with myself
The trees bend to caress me
The shade hugs my heart.~Candy Polgar

We can learn a lot from trees: they're always grounded but never stop reaching heavenward. ~Everett Mámor
