Oh Sandra, I am so sorry. Wonder what is going on??? Do you have a computer virus that they didn't get the first time????
Since you use small print on your blog --and obviously don't have an eye problem, I'd get a wireless laptop if I were you. The advantage of the laptop is that it is portable. BUT--since you two don't travel much --you may opt for a desktop with a huge monitor.
I love both of mine --but love having the laptop when we travel. I also can sit at my recliner while I'm watching the birds and resting my knee --and use the laptop. IF I had to choose one or the other, I'd choose the laptop. But--as I said, your life is different.
Good Luck --and keep us posted.
Hugs,
Betsy
P.S. I still think you should get a MAC.. They are so wonderful!!!!
Mac is great. Laptop is so mobile and easy! Betsy is right.
And you may wish to set security higher. Try stopping the anon comments.
So, so sorry!!! I will never go back to desktop, 'cause I can put my feet up on the couch and compute while watching T.V., but anyway I'm not stuck in one little room at a desk, sitting in one position, so dismal! MAC friends of ours rave about it, and Consumer Reports people adore it. Almost no viruses. But I've never been brave enough to try one, if only there was an Apple store around here...
Laptop.
If you want to get advice from someone, call Dan Able, 792-7944. He is good and a good friend of mine. You can tell him I sent you.
When my desktop crashed back in the late autumn I hesitated for quite a while whether I'd replace it with a new desktop or a new laptop. I already had a laptop but that had been giving me some problems as well. As you might remember I ended up buying a new laptop, and since I rarely have reason to take it with me outside the flat I chose one with 17" screen. I have not regretted it so far! Usually I have it in my study and use it with a separate wireless keyboard. But it's great to also be able to sit somewhere else if I want to. I recommend regular back up of photos etc on an external USB hard drive.
Good luck to you, I hope you find a new "friend" (computer) soon.
I'm so sorry Sandra - yikesola....
