Ca D' Zan Kitchen

No Jokes today, but I do have a few Trivia sprinkled in
Kitchen Prep Sink and Breakfast Dishes

Lemons contain more sugar than strawberries

Above Gas Stove, below wood burning stove

In France, people eat approximately 500,000,000 snails per year

I loved this sink, as you can tell by Three Photos of One Sink.... Madsnapper is my name, Madly Snapping is my Game.

Above is the kitchen table for the servants, below shows the kitchen floor

Breakfast dishes above, Below 2 settings of the State Chiina. The good stuff in other words.

Tomorrow we head outside the Mansion. I forgot to mention each floor in the house is 8000 sq feet, there are 4 floors.... Lots Of Merry Maids needed here.

I think I enjoyed the kitchen photos the best. That I would loved to have explored. Maybe cause that's where I do my best work!

There we go! I had to show Beth this because she loves kitchens like that! It is beautiful! Wouldn't that be cool to have one like that?

You would have to have a lot of help for a kitchen that size! sandie

Very nice, Sandra... Glad I wasn't born in France.. Don't think I want any snails!!!!! ha

Wonder why --in that second sink picture--that there is a crook in the bar separating the sinks????? Hmmmm---Inquiring minds want to know.

Love the china --but think I like the breakfast china the best... I'm more of a plain-jane ---so all of that fancy stuff is pretty, but not my first choice.

Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Betsy

Thanks for including the kitchen in our tour of the mansion. We missed the kitchen when we toured Biltmore House.

I've spent quite a while going back and forth looking at these. First with a question, since we are sisters maybe you asked it, too. The first sink on top, why is the divider squiggly? I can think of no reason except that something is made to fit there. I see there are some things scattered around for sale? Or is it just displays of what is in the gift shop? The first napkin, is that the chandelier reflection on it? Outstanding, so beautiful and unusual!!! Now to the second sink. I must say that it gives me the creeps. It looks like an autopsy sink in a morgue. BUT I have enjoyed very much looking at the kitchen, especially the NAPKIN!! I would like to hire whoever is their maid, I think you could eat off the floor! Or off anything in there for that matter.

OK... why the curve in the first sink?
I love the china and the silver settings... but wouldn't you hate to have to keep all of that polished and shining?

Great posts. Being an Antique nut and older myself I find all this interesting. Thanks.

Wow, it would take a crew to run that kitchen. Great pictures and tour. Gerry

The stove makes me want waffles!! Must be the design..I really like
(now both)- window and table, but the wreaths are so pretty! My sister did tile like that in a spare bath outside. I don't know what to say..the sinks are so reminicent of Hawaii's old plantation style?

I accidently held down the switch on my laptop (though I already commented), well things were restored.. but was when I noticed Ginny's comment (ha ha)

that's some kitchen but I wouldn't want to be the one who had to clean it.

Okay, I guess it's time for the retirement home for me. I see two photos of the top sink, with the squiggly divider, one photo of the larger porcelain sink with the books on the table in front of it and then two photos of the twin sinks with the stainless steel counter tops. I don't see three photos of any one sink??? Wheres the trick secret shot. OBTW, I too enjoyed the tour of the kitchen.

Love the kitchen, that first sink is so cool. My guess is a cutting board fits in the squiggles? It would be a great place for one.

What I really like is the old antique ice box, it appears to be a built in. The wood is gorgeous.

I'm stuck on the "lemons have more sugar in them than strawberries" part. Say what???? They are soooo sour.... oh my goodness! How funny is that!
