That's a very St Nicholas-like Santa. I like it! The whole Santa-myth is really a very odd mix when one starts picking apart all the older traditions behind today's images.
Your Old Saint Nicholas is one very handsome fellow. A lot of work went into making that piece, the details are beautiful. I can see why he is your favorite Santa.
That is one special Santa. I especially like his eyes.Best,Bonnie
I love his beard, It is beautifully made.
That is a wonderful Santa. I love your headers. It is amazing what you do with the nook and glass. Great post.
Woof! Woof! its hard to believe that the Santa Claus is made out of cardboard. Golden Thanks for sharing. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
You always take such great photos Sandra! Great post!
I can see why it's a favorite, he's a handsome Santa. Your daughter in law is quite talented. It's amazing what you can do with cardboard. There is so much beautiful detail. Hope you had a nice weekend.
Just amazing how beautiful the individual bits of Santa are!
he is very intricate and ornate. :)
Gorgeous Santa! But I am gonna' go curl-up-in-a-ball-and-cry. I am so-in-*lust* with your macro ability. -gigggggles- ,-)I'm sure you would coach me, if we were nearer. But I also believe that you have and are proficient with the use of, a better camera than I have. And that's fine too. I don't mean I'm jealous of your cam. I mean--What if all out blogs, looked exactly the same? Now that would be boring. So we each have to be content with the photos we can put on our own blogs. :-) I've been in blogging long enough (years and years) to learn to not, not, not stop doing what-I-can, because of all the more polished things which are out there, in Pretty Blog Land. At first, it's a damper on our own enthusiasm. But after a while, you learn that being TIMID, is useless. And even holds one back, from learning more and progressing, with the use of our own camera.Yikes, I'm long-winded today. Sorry. You fully understand, everything I'm trying to say, I'm sure."Heap on more wood!~~The wind is chill; But let it whistle as it will,We'll keep our Christmas merry still."~~Sir Walter Scott

He's wonderful Sandra, now I know why you saved the best for last!
Love your Santa! He's so beautiful!
He is one of the very few Santas I have seen that I really like! Maybe because you showed him one part at a time, I love the block, and other things he is carrying. And I like your cute Santas from yesterday. I remember the couple from last year, I remember Mrs. Santa's long eyelashes, it stuck in my mind. You have got to see Tammy's nativity scene. It is all made from paper! And you would never know. I can't remember if you follower her, but click here, I think you may have to scroll, but it should still be her header. http://www.simplesouthernhappiness.blogspot.com/
