Baby Breaking News

somebody help me PLEASE

Baby is doing so well, i decided to do a post today after all. I had said no post today, but Bob volunteered to stay home with her and I went to the gym, one hour of walking and TALKING and I am back and raring to BLOG... she is doing great, and we are able to keep the cone off most of the time by careful watching. She sleeps most of the time.
Warning! gross photo below...

it is hard to take the photo with one hand and she hates the camera.  this ear requires care several times a day, have to press between warm wet washcloth to make it bleed to keep it from scabbing over while it regenerates the skin they removed. It makes me hurt to look at it but it does not seem to bother her at all and she loves for me to doctor it.

Poor Baby! It probably feels good to have her ear fiddled with...it may itch or ache a little, and plus she's getting Mama's attention.

Soooooo glad you got out. Thanks to Bob! And that the doggie-care is coming along better.

I am sooooo glad that your care of it, doesn't bother her. It sounds as if it would hurt, to squeeze it. But it doesn't, and that is wonderful!!!

Gentle hugs...

I'm glad she's doing better. Hope she's back to her old self real soon. You're a good mama Sandra! I bet Jake misses romping and playing with her right now.

So glad to see you blogging, I pictured you just an exhausted wreck by now! She love you to take care of her ear??? That is good news, it must not hurt! I'm thinking it was a good thing this did not happen to Jake, as I picture Baby being much more easy going and sleeping more.

Glad Baby is doing better...interesting stitching on that ear!! Did the vet say anything about soaking it in epson salts? That's my mom's cure for all. We did that on gracie's wounds when she was attacked by the 3 pit bulls...worked well.
Three cheers to Bob!! He's a keeper :)

I can understand she hates the cone, who wouldn't! Good thing she doesn't mind you nursing her though ;)

After seeing the picture I now understand how they fixed it. It probably does feel good to her to have it doctored on. Is she getting spoiled from all of the extra attention she is getting? I know years ago I had a chihuahua that would pretend to be sick just to get more attention! lol

I do hope she gets better soon!

Oh her poor ear. Give her a ((Hug)) from me and Skye! I know those cones are strange but they do the job! Glad she doesn't have to wear it very often. Have a wonderful weekend Sandra.

Oh, poor baby. I didn't know what happened and had to go back through your blog (I'm so behind). I'm glad she's doing better and is getting all the love and attention she needs. It is hard on older animals for sure. Ellie is our lab. When she was a puppy (about a year old), she and her brother got into a fight with a copperhead and her ears were swollen like Baby's. We had to wrap them down so she wouldn't shake her head and make it worse. She's 11 years old now and still has some scars, but the ears look normal. Have a good weekend. Kiss the baby! :)

That looks so nasty really hope she recovers soon. I have just been catching up on your posts (I can't believe I have missed so many).
I want to ask you a favour.
I got my copy of this months National Geographic yesterday and it has an article about your Civil War... I shared the story with the guys at work and told them I had a friend who had recently taken some fantastic images.
I don't want to post them online but do you mind if I copy some of your pics to share at work.
If you haven't seen the magazine I think it will be of interest to you.

You don't need to share this comment lol xx

Awwww...bless her heart. It's been a while since I have seen an animal with an Elizabethan collar. They are needed in situations like this, though. Thank you for sharing.

I've been thinking of her ever since I saw this post and didn't take the time to read it. She looks so forlorn in that picture, poor baby. Both Samson and Soldier are doing well. And Angel continues as if she wasn't anywhere near 13 1/2 years old. Thanks for all your nice comments on my posts. I didn't think I would, but I really enjoyed telling everyone why I came to America. Glad you could relate.
