Is the label a give-away?

Its an artistic orange tree.

Apparently the neighbors love it too, I see they gave it a little extra help to stay standing. I love the shadows.

Same question as DT, does the label give us the answer? I'll guess that kind of tree!

Well, it's not a stately elm!! I love that they keep it. What a great Halloween piece it would make.

Best,

That tree is art even when the sun is not out. Cool.

With branches so near the ground I think it's a shrubby tree that grew into a surprisingly tall tree or is very old. It must have a special meaning for your neighbours.

I guessed a dead tree right away. Why doesn't that count? But I think you got great pictures.

Not too sure; but I'm thinking a scrub oak.

I love the shadows from this tree! I'm not sure what kind of tree it is??? Usually an oak has branches this low to the ground, but what happened to it??

Ms. Sandra mom says you are the most creative Mad Snapper she has ever had to pleasure to know. That tree would be pretty spooking in Oct if the put a light in the middle then covered it with a sheet.
Just sayin'

Great shadow shots and I do love your banner today.
Looking forward to the rest of the story about the tree.

Kind of looks like my juniper trees, but whatever it is, it sure is one photogenic tree!
Believe it or not, but this morning, walking the dogs, I took a bunch of shadow photos. I had sooo much fun. I won't post them for a while. And they are not as good as yours, but fun.
I also wanted to thank you for your feedback regarding photo programs and I will leave PS alone and try out Picmonkey. Thanks!

Nope, don't know what kind of a tree it is.

But I do know, that your finding it, has opened a whole *bag of worms.* -gigggggles-

The "Mad Snapper" will be over there, taking pic, after pic, after pic, of that tree. It is a Photographer's Dream, of a zillion PHOTO OPS!!! ,-)

If you can't find her Bob, just look over there!!!! ,-)

That tree looks like my goats got to it.

Is it an "ORANGE" tree?

Ann said...

Well I can only say an orange tree because of the label but it sure is interesting looking and it makes some amazingly cool shadows.
Is there any particular reason why it's still standing since it's obviously dead?

You are funny!! I need to do the shadow project over again tomorrow morning because a couple of the pictures were messed up. I just checked my lens and sure enough, there's a smudge on it. I figured it out: Sun screen lotion! Bummer, but the sun should be a strong tomorrow. And I want to keep that post open for another couple of days as I work on my computer. Maybe some more people will donate to Feral Woman.

Sandra, was thinking banana tree or some sort of palm tree, aside from the very obvious nearly (or completely) dead tree.
