Petting Zoo - Past Post

Have you ever petted a ROOSTER? You could this one, as you can see.

Some of you asked about the goat I am holding in the header photo. I found this old post from several years ago and here it is again.

UPDATE  this was supposed to post TOMORROW, someone did not get the right date or time.....

This is a full grown bull, I hugged and kissed on him like he was a dog. He is a minature bull.

and the horse is a horse, a minature horse, not a pony.

We all love the baby goats. All of the animals are raised by hand and played with and petted from the day they are born, which allows us to pet them and hold them.

I was the volunteer, Official Photographer for a long term nursing and rehab facility for 4 years. I have 22 gigs of pictures taken in the last 3 years, due to privacy issues I can not post my favorites, but I can show how much love the animals recieve when the petting zoo comes. The little goats and chickens come with sheep and donkey and llalma and even a minature bull. A photographers dream. or mine anyway.

This is wonderful. I am sure the people loved the animals coming to visit. Things like this should happen more often for the elderly or disabled. Love it!

I never knew that a petty zoo would go to a nursing home. That is a sweet deal! I don't know if that would get my Granny to wonder out to see them or not.

What a nice petting zoo. Lots of great animals there. Even though you can't post a lot of the pictures from your gig I like these. I think showing the animal and just the hands makes for a great shot

That use has got to lift the spirits of the residents there. Animals are the next best thing to GOD's love.

Beautiful post!

LOVE those sweet faces.

That chicken is a frizzle! They are so beautiful. Their feathers grow up and away from their skin rather than down and close to the skin, giving them that fluffy appearance.

Te thing I see with animals Sandra - is that everyone loves them. They love to pet them and they love to be petted. I love that bracelet in the first picture too. I have never held a hen. sandie

Petting zoos are so much fun for all ages. I love those baby goats, they are adorable.

I've never petted a rooster but I did get chased by one once. I was about two years old and it was huge. Maybe that's why I haven't petted one. LOL!

These are wonderful pictures of the miniature animals. It's great that the nursing home has its own petting zoo (or at least animals).

Those are cute animals! I would love to bring my nephews and niece to a similar place here when they can learn and enjoy at the same time.

A lovely series of photos, we used to keep chickens in the UK and many of them became pets and did not mind being handled. :)
