MadSnappers "Thanksgiving

It is thanksgiving 5:30 AM... we are eating out, no work to do. I place oatmeal in microwave and think YIKES this needs cleaning. We eat our oatmeal and I decide to clean the microwave, I open the microwave door, with Dawn Rag in hand, see the dirty glass table, remove camera with long lens attached  that lives on table for Madly Snapping anything that happens, placing said  camera in chair.

I wipe the table with aforementioned damp cloth, turn to get dry cloth to dry it, see the microwave door standing open, pull rolling chair over to sit in since, our microwave lives in the place where normal people keep a dishwasher.

I sit in chair ON the camera, leap stagger back up and burst out laughing as I see the damp table waiting for the drying cloth.

I meander into the living room because though I can see Bob plainly sitting hearing distance away, he has local news BLASTING on 58 decibels (I am comfy at 28) and he can't hear my story. I relate the above mentioned story and go back to kitchen where damp has dried on table and has to be re-wiped and dried, microwave door is still open, not cleaned.

I did get the table polished, the microwave cleaned and decided to clean  the five miles of counter top I have now that it is just Bob and ME. (when I had kids at home, my counter top was 3 sq feet)
We did have a happy ending, we did eat out, the kitchen was sparkling all day long....although this morning, I noticed it was dirty again and we ATE OUT! so what is up with that? Where does the dirt come from?
The End

I love it when everything is clean and shiny. Well done, it looks so inviting. AND Happy Thanks Giving.

Your counters look spotless and long but then can we really have too much counter space? I can clean ours in the morning and by midday the dust is back.

Clean up and eat out that sounds a good idea. Which program did you use for the slick arrows and labels?

The shinier the surface, the easier you see the dirt :) I have a dishwasher hole filled with "other things" as well (and no dishwasher).

To eat out sounds nice, no cleaning up or dishes to do...simples!! Happy Thanksgiving!

Your kitchen looks immaculate, but housework can be so time-consuming. We have long, shiny counters in our kitchen, too. It's satisfying when everything is clean and sparkling... until the next cooking session.

LOL hilarious! I live alone and can't figure out how my counters can stay so messy either, who keeps messing them up! haha

Love your blog! Great pics!

You should be writing suspense books. As for the eating out idea, that's the best way to cook. I used to love cooking and baking and still would if I had someone to share the results with.Enjoy that clean kitchen,no need to mess it up with cooking.

Dirt fairies is what I decided

I thought I knew what dust/dirt was until I moved to Arizona. I was amazed because you can clean and wipe the dust off, come back ten minutes later and there will be dust again. Calling this a 'dry' country hits in ways that are not thought about. Like DUST!

Dust here and there and all over the place! Never ending battle!! Hope you and Bob had a nice, easy Thanksgiving. Did you go out on Black Friday? I know you probably didn't. I was not going to even attempt getting through that mob!

That dirt is related to Dust Bunnies. And you know how rabbits multiply.....

To answer you question, the roundish tree in the photo is a small Blue Spruce and the tall pointy green on is in the cedar family. Not sure of its proper name.
All the trees and plants at our house were mature when we moved in 5 1/2 years ago. Nothing was marked so its bee a guessing game as to what some are.
When the sun hits that red tree in the front of the house, the place literally glows. My camera just can't capture the full effect.

Love the way you celebrated Thanksgiving. I finally got our kitchen clean last night. there were only 4 of us together for the holiday but my goodness, I can't believe how messy things can get.
Have a wonderful, what's left of the weekend...(:0)

When my son was young and we only had one little puppy dog my house was spotless. Those days are long gone. :) And it's okay. :)

Ouch, sitting on a Rebel can be pailful. My eyes are not able to see much dirt. I have a cleaning crew come once a month now that Buddy's skin is so much better.
Glad you had a nice dinner out.

Hi Sandra, WELL---where did you eat? Did you have turkey and the trimmings --or something like a burger from Wendy's???? ha ha

My dirt and I are friends... I seem to like it since I allow it to settle in here for a good life... Oh Well---tis much more important stuff to do outside!!!!! ha

Hope you had a good weekend.

Your kitchen is so clean. Mine always looks a mess even after I clean it. When you said you sat on your camera I thought you were going to say you broke it. So glad that wasn't the case

Do I rememebr those days.

Now we dont get brownie points do we.

Have a good night.

I enjoyed your blog.

And your clean kitchen my dear.

I use to blame all the mess on the kids...and now I realize it is Frank. :)

Sounds like a happy and hilarious Thanksgiving.

But it is not fair how surfaces become mysteriously dirty or cluttered but never mysteriously clean and clear!

Hi Sandra, I love your post and photos! I see the pups have some treats in a jar just like Harriet!
John woke today with another rash/hives/swelling etc. to another prescription. I am at the end of my rope! I won't be blogging til the new year and did not want you to worry. I'll still be visiting, though. Take care and give the doggies a hug!

I was afraid you were going to say you dropped your camera. I'm so glad that did NOT happen!! I'm impressed with your cleanliness.

Einstein said the whole world leads to decay left unattended, or something like that, LOL. I think that includes clean countertops attracting dirt. :)

Dirt appears as if by magic. If only gold appeared in the same mysterious way!
