Plastic or Glass?

While juicing a grapefruit for my morning break, I started with the above plastic and ended with the glass  below.  which do you prefer? plastic or glass? or do you have an electric juicer?

Snapper wants to know:
Why? If  I am in the back of the store, the rest room is in the front, if I am in the front of the store, the rest room is in the back.
If I am in Wal-Mart, they have two, one in front, one in back. Sooo why is it when I go running to the closest one, there is a sign Wet Floor use other rest room.

I prefer the glass. As to why you are always in the wrong place when you need to use a restroom: they have you on camera and can see you coming. If you are at the back of the store, the back bathroom suddenly become invisible (or they set up the wet floor sign,,,or whatever) so you have to go to the front. That's just the way it is, Sandra! :))

The only window in my kitchen is behind the kitchen sink. All of my other windows have furniture in front of them.

I am absolutely fascinated with your shadow shots. You are really good with that technique.

Glass but I haven't used mine in ages!

Happy day!:-)

My answer? Motorized. I don't care if it's plastic or glass. :))

My Mom used to have a glass one and I seem to think that I have one like it somewhere. Obviously I never use it.

Love the glass one... That happens to me all the time with the restrooms!

Don't have one. Not much of a juice drinker. Twice we have stopped while traveling when I REALLY had to go and found the place had one stall and it was taken! Sheer terror!! :-)

Neither! Maybe I'd have one if I lived in an area with citrus trees. The bathroom issue is complex and purposefully so, so as to annoy women!!

Best,
Bonnie

Love those old glass juicers they do a much better job!

MOM just eats the grapefruit. She does not juice it, just eats it. As for the bathroom, I have no idea I just go outside. It's always there and open.

I actually have an electric juicer but haven't used it for years. It's sitting in the garage, the next step will be GoodWill. I have a plastic one which I use, occasionally, but your glass one reminds me that I had a green (as in Depression glass green) one...I wonder where it is! (Story of my life.)

Have a great day, Sandra.

For that project, I believe I'd prefer glass. Seems HARDER.

And sometimes, it's hard to tell the difference between plastic and glass. Really. I have a big pretty faux-wine glass, which I can't tell. Yes, it rings a bit. the way to tell glass.

But! Is it a real ring??????????

,-)

Great questions, my friend....be sure to let me know when you figure it out.... Love the glass juicers....Beth said that brings back a lot of memories for her....

I have the same problem at Wal-Mart! I prefer the one in the back because it's usually cleaner and less busy. And as far as juicers, I don't have one!

Hehehe...Loved EG's answer...don't have a juicer of any kind. But think if I did, I would prefer glass.

MOL MOL MOL....we know what you mean about the closest potty having a wet floor sign. One time mom saw that and said yes and there will be other floors wet if you don't let me in this one. MOL

Mom has a plastic juicer which she likes because it has a tray to catch the seeds. She would love to have a glass one like yours to dispaly.

I prefer glass over plastic. That goes for most things and not just juicers.
KWYM about the bathrooms!

Again, your photos of the glass one are modern art. You have become a female Andy Warhol! You have the ability to take average household items, and ramp them up to art, just like he did with the Campbell's Soup can. Only he just made it bigger, your photos are even prettier than his. BUT, why did you have to switch to the glass one, we want to know!

My juicer is made of both plastic and glass but I like the glass ones best. Murphy's Law maybe?! Regarding bathrooms. Nice shadows!

Try an electric juicer. It'll save you time from pressing and squeezing the liquid from your fruit ;-)

I prefer glass for most things over plastic.
I can't stand using public restrooms! Sometimes it is a must.:(

When I was young Mom had a orange juicer that was not electric....you had to push a paddle lever like thing down and it would squeeze the orange juice out. I could go for a nice, big, fresh, squeezed orange juice right now!!!!!!

I prefer the glass, it's so much prettier, and I bet it's stronger.
I gave up on gadgets such as juicers and such, and went back to basics :)

I am the lazy type of juice drinker and buy it in cartons :) I've never even owned a juicer can you believe that?
I don't have an answer to the question about the restrooms but the same thing always happens to me

I don't have a juicer anymore--but when I did, I prefer the glass one... We eat an orange every night --but just peel it and eat it (navels).... YUM....

I agree about the bathrooms....That has happened to me.

Betsy

I like glass. It works well and is pretty. I know what you mean about the bathrooms....:(

My parents had a glass juicer, but I've never had one. You've found the secret to Wal-Mart's cleaning schedule.

I love my old glass one...

Glass is always better. I have one just like your, it's around here somewhere. Can you tell I don't use it very much?

It never fails, if I want to use the restroom in a store they are always cleaning it. If they have two the one I go to is being cleaned. Just can't win.

I don't even have one! lol I did have a wooden hand held one at one time but not sure what happened to it. Lost it in a move or something? Never used it either I don't think! lol

The same thing happens to me about the bathrooms! Now, since I have 2 kids that I usually shop with I know where all the clean bathrooms are where ever it is that I go shopping!

I have a plastic something to that purpose but I never use it since I'm allergic/oversensitive to fresh citrus fruits. Last time I used it was probably last time I made green tomato marmalade (because of the lemons also included in that recipe)...

Errrr. Hate to be awkward but we have a wooden juicer thingy. Doesn't catch the pips though. Not that I care, obviously! Deccy x

Yeah..the bathroom thing. That just sucks! But I would prefer the glass. I am trying to wean myself off plastic as much as possible.

Because that's Murphy's Law!
There are always glitches along the way. (:0)
I have a collection of glass and ceramic reamers. Love them but very rarely use them. Actually most are still packed away from our move 5 1/2 years ago.
Love your picture of the glass one with juice and the sunlight making a pretty pattern on the counter.
