Of Cats and Candles..

The flickering light of the candles calls to me and I start sitting glass in front of them. This time I chose my favorite glass animal, the cat.

Above is my Oopsy shot, it looks like there was an earthquake while I was taking the photo.
The thing is, I decided I liked it so took it on a trip into PicMonkey and here you go... me thinks the earthquake was shaky OLD hands of photographer.
YES, I do know they invented tri-pods.

Stuck on Black and White

Saturday, December 20th, While putting my purchase in the trunk, I decided to try the new red camera on Big Black Birds. I snapped this and turned and low and behold... the sky was Gorgeous... I quickly snapped and this is what I got.

THE CAMERA WAS ON MONOCHROME AND I COULD NOT FIND OUT HOW TO GET IT ON COLOR...  I came home and used PicMonkey to paint the sky as I saw it... see below.

It took a few tries but the one below is pretty close to what I saw.. thank you PicMonkey... I painted it in touch up, with the eye tint brush.... and then went to textures and used the cloud thingy...

Who says we can't change a black and white into color... I did.

And yes, I did take the lights in black and white to see what it looked like, then I spent 10 minutes trying to find the spot to change it back to normal settings.

Tales of my Daddy

Daddy loved to hunt birds and target shoot 1913-2006
Daddy lived in a retirement community and on the way home one evening, he stopped to chat with his neighbor who lived 6 lots down.... they sat in the yard and talked for an hour and at dusk Daddy went home.

the next morning he showered and dressed, ate breakfast and walked out to get in his car. NO CAR! he went into panic mode shouting someone stole my car... He walked out in the middle of the street to see if there was anyone to help him, and 6 doors down sat his Saturn, parked in front of the neighbors house...

The Acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.... I am just like him....Have not lost my car YET..

The funniest story of all... at age 88 he was about to step in the shower and thought, Charles, vacuum the living room before you shower. He did not redress. The hose came off the vac, he got the super glue and glued it back on, but in the process glued his pointer and thumb together... It would not open at all.
He used a serrated steak knife to saw between the fingers, yes there was a little blood involved. He said I was naked, I could not call for help.

We howled with laughter but if/when this happens to me, it will NOT be posted HERE!

Every Day Miracles

Friday December 18th, I took this photo of Bob and Baby and Jake in our back yard. I had no idea that 24 hours later Baby Girl and my BFF Rich would be fighting for their lives.

Friday Dec. 26th, one week later and we had two miracles. Rich if off monitors and IV drips and sitting in his wheel chair. He has a way to go, but the difference is night and day..
Baby ate all her food yesterday and at 3 AM Friday morning she presented me with the final piece of her recovery puzzle... her first Poop in 4 days..She came to watch me cook last night and I did not have to coax her food by hand feeding her.
to all of you who extended prayers and well wishes for both of my BFF;s.
and Thank you Lord, for their healing.
And my own personal miracle is with 15 minutes a day of counted exercises given me by a therapist, and a Cortisone injection 2 weeks ago,  I am able to climb steps without dragging my right leg, and walk with out pain.

Christmas Day Adventures

Christmas day, I watched the blazing fire and Christmas music that ran for 12 hours on Hallmark Movie Channel. And I just SNAPPED!
(note: I wanted a movie not a fire)

I pinned my Owl Santa pin that is 52 years old,  on my red blouse,  And I just SNAPPED! and drove to the hospital and

Gleefully   Fearfully rode the hospital elevator up 4 floors to visit my BFF Rich.
 And I just SNAPPED!
He is getting better each day but not out of the woods yet.

I don't do elevators if at all possible, so now Rich knows how much I love him.

And while talking to Rich I looked out his door and realized the florescent  lights down the hall had paintings as covers.
 And I just SNAPPED!

Came home to cook Christmas dinner and for the first time in my life made green bean casserole...  And I just SNAPPED!

Bob said what is that? I said Green bean Casserole... He said I don't know if I will like that I have never heard of it. It was no shock to me I had never cooked it because I rarely cook anything... the Shock was he had never even seen it, heard of it or tasted it.  He did like it but not LOVE it.. neither did I and I blame this on Blake Sheldon on the Voice last week because he said it was his favorite thing his mother serves at Christmas..

Baby Up Date

The 270.00 diagnosis is her intestines are turning themselves inside out, she ate something really nasty. like mushroom or chocolate or a frog or something. he said not the Shifferleria tree. He is 99 percent sure she ate something... If the treatment doesn't work, it could be the Big C... he just had to say that.

Treatment & days of antibiotics twice a day to be poked way down back of throat.

Twice a day special canned food, once she starts eating. No food at all today.

She is not allowed in the yard without a leash for 7 days... OH NOOOOO. she is used to coming and going at will. the reason for this if she gets in what ever it was while she is this sick it will kill her.

No treats at all for 7 days.. NONE... OH NOOOOO
She got an injection for the nausea...

The next 7 days will not be fun for her or us... because Jake can have what he wants, there in lies the problem...
Thanks everyone for caring with me... and all you well wishes.

Baby is very sick

As I stepped out of my car at Salem's last week, I took this photo...Just Because!

I also took it for a visit to PicMonkey...Just Because.. SHOCKER
12:40 am UPDATE: Baby is sick again and pooping blood. going to the vet. comments off until further notice.

I had a horrible 24 hours yesterday from Friday night until last night. Baby was so sick and my friend Rich is in hospital with collapsed lower lobes of both lungs. I did not get to visit him because of Baby. Please pray for Rich.
we thought Baby might be dying yesterday. she was so sick, pooping and throwing up from 5 pm Friday night all through the night and until 5 yesterday. she wanted to be outside and did not want to be in the house or to be bothers. it was horrible.. she would dig a hole and throw up in it and move on and dig one to lay in... I called the vet and he said to let her take care of herself and get it out of her system and if she was still sick today to bring her in for a shot.

Baby Girl age 13 years 8 months
Baby is better this am, at 5 last night after 5 hours in the yard, she would not come in the house and I put her leash on and walked her to the closet that she hides in when it thunders. at 6 she came walking into the living room and stood there swaying like she was going to fall. would not lay down or walk. we just ignored her, she staggered over to the water bowl and drank half the bowl, staggered back to the middle of the living room floor and laid down, she would not lay on her side so I put her pillow there and she collapsed on it and did not move and stayed there all night. she would not get in her bed or on the sofa.. I put pillows behind and in front and her blanket and laid her head down . she woke me up with a yelp at 11 pm and at 2 am but slept all night right in the middle of the floor.
at 4 when Jake went out, I made her go out and she peed a long time, came in and got in the chair that is her night time place to sleep in our bedroom and has not moved since. it is almost after  7 now... no throw up no diarrhea since about 4 yesterday... she is so weak she has a hard time walking... we are just letting her sleep until she gets up. bob is eating sausage and eggs and the smell always has her sitting under his chair, she is not there.. and at 8 AM today she is still sleeping.

But she is on the mend... and I am so thankful we had a summer day yesterday so she could revert to what wolves do when they are sick. today it is raining all day... perfect timing

The Man Who Wore The Scarlet Purple Robe

My roots are in Southern Gospel and I had not heard this before. I heard it on Bluegrass PBS on the radio as I drove to Wal-Mart Saturday morning.

Words Below

The Man Who Wore The scarlet Purple Robe by Ralph Stanley

There's a story so unkind in the Holy book we find
And it tells how Jesus stood alone one day
False accused and there condemned yet they found no fault with Him
The man who wore the scarlet purple robe

Purple robe my Savior wore oh the shame for me he bore
As He stood alone, forsaken on that day
And they placed upon His head piercing thorns and blood stained red
His raiment was a scarlet purple robe

In the common judgment hall he was mocked and scorned by all
And a tear of sorrow fell upon His cheek
Soldiers of the wicked man smote Him with their evil hand
The Man who wore the scarlet purple robe

Words of truth that day were plain from the lips of Pilot came
In this man I find no reason He should die
But the multitudes replied let Him now be crucified
The man who wore the scarlet purple robe

Oh the River Of Jordan is many miles away
And this mighty river I may never see
But I'll find myself an alter in an old fashioned church

Red Hibiscus Perfect for December

Our back yard is decorating itself for the holidays.

Did you hear about the flower arrangers children?

One is a budding genius and the other is a blooming idiot.

Why did the butterfly get a cell phone?
 She wanted to cauliflower.

What were King Tut’s favorite flowers? Chrysanthemummies! - See more at:
