The Case of the Disappearing Colocasia...

Photo's today from my Archives Circa 2007

The Case of the disappearing Colocasia Elephant Ears

Also known as Death By Dog.

The cast: The digger, the hunter and the runner
Time Travel with me to 2007

Said Elephant Ears were more than 5 feet tall and a treasured view from my kitchen window
The three Canines in resident had been living with these plants for several years.

Then one day Baby the digger spent time each day, digging to China under the roots

Jake noticed his sister digging and said what fun. Look at all those lizards on the stalks.

My beloved Elephant Ears drooped and dropped and fell to the ground.

Cooper the runner said "Hey guys, lets run and use the track behind what is left of the plants for a race track,.

And by the end of the summer the Ears were no more... No More.. No More.

Yes, I know this is not an elephant ear, but I found it in the Elephant Ear folder.
Who did that we do not know....

Too bad about the elephant ears. It's a good thing the three culprits were loved otherwise they could have been in big trouble :)

Oh boy Sandra, your poor elephant ears. My little dog years and years ago when we were in California, kept digging down to the roots of our ornamental pear tree. Well, for such a large tree the roots didn't go down too far and the first rains that came, timberrrrrrrrrrrrr.........

Thanks for commenting. I like the yellow pot too. It is a plastic container that the Susans came in. Nice huh? I might just keep it on the deck.

We had a ton of them in VA...a gift from my neighbor, Emerson, and they were alive and well when we left. Here I would have to lift the tubers...far too cold...sorry you lost yours to the you know what!...:)JP

Love those huge leaves. They are so big they could keep the rain off my head. If we had any... lol

Dogs will be dogs! Our Skye has ruined several plants thinking that a lizard is hiding in it.

Those poor Elephant Ears but at least they gave the dogs many hours of enjoyment. Reminds me of planting some flowers in a big pot on the patio. The cats decided the plants were very comfortable for napping. The plants died but my cats got lots of good sleep time. MOL!

Oh, this is so funny! Love that line digging to China...and they do dig like that is where they are going.

When our last two dogs were young, the one would always run on the other side of the flower bed if we were going to catch her, or around a tree...she was very good at keeping something between us...and one time she ran Sarah over around our neighbor's garage and around their house...

Sbe came home telling that they were all sitting our there talking and there she went...and could not take time to say hi, or anything. I sit and laugh till I cry every time I remember her telling it.

But then, Shelby loved to play with her, and she would do the same thing with her but it was always focused around this one little flower bed I had in the back yard. It had a path worn around it that took forever to disappear!
