This Was The Week That Was...

8/27/2014 - Mega $$$$ paid for car insurance, and homeowners for the year. This happens every year..this year Murphy kicked in. for 25 years they were due a month apart, but DUE TO ERROR by Homeowners it ended up both due on same day...

SAME DAY , Baby Girl got sick , vet bill 270.00.  antibiotics for urinary tract infection BUTT it could be the big tumor she has... she is on her 5th pill and no better... waiting and watching. (we are now on the way to almost 3,000 in 2 days)

Thursday, the AC started acting weird, as in having to turn it off and back on to get it to run...
Friday night at bedtime, Bob the handy man noticed the compressor was running and running and no fan to blow the air. The silly thing is ON and will not turn off unless we Throw The Switch at the breaker box...Thank you Lord I married a handyman...

DID I MENTION WE ARE IN THE HIGH 90'S ALL DAY AND AT BED TIME IT IS 92 AND ONLY GOES DOWN TO 85 WHEN WE WAKE UP?

AC man, per voice mail.... they are closed on the week ends.. still waiting to hear from him..I did push the button for emergency.. that was 3 hours ago...

Murphy's Law is WHY  things break only on Weekends, even teeth know to break on a week end.

The good news is 4 years ago when we had to wait a week for a part for the AC with NO AC at all, we purchased the trusty little, plug in the wall AC unit, 129.00 at Walmart, and Billy Bob kept it in the garage/airplane hanger  and it will keep the bedroom cool for sleeping.

While Rome Burns, MadSnapper PLAYS...
THREE STRIKES and we are hopefully OUT of things that cost MONEY.

Wow, Murphy paid you a visit! We are finally a few degrees cooler and some clouds for shade today! I hope your furry friend gets better real soon! Good luck with the AC man! We went through a few then we replaced our "lemon" and it is working wonderful! Writing those checks is sooo hard!

While Rome burns, Madsnapper plays, I LOVE it!! All this stuff happening and you are still being funny! Even when you are Roasted Snapper. I did not know abut Baby, I am so sorry. How many more pills are left? When will you talk to the vet again? Keep me posted. Did you break your tooth, too?

Oh you still have your humor in all this Doom and Gloom. Bravo!

I had to laugh at your little lark about your Hero.

Billy Bob Redneck Handyman.

Sandra quit your homemaker job. Go stand in line for America Got Talent.

They need the place have a female Comedian.

I for one would vote you in.

Your a natural comedian.

I am still cracking up over your handyman Billy Boy.

Your a hoot!

Sorry about Baby - I hope she can be made well again! I know what you mean about things happening all at once. It's been going on in our house too! LOL. From one garage door opener to the other, to the Stove roof vent leaking during rain storms, to the R.O. Unit leaking after husby changed the filters, and we had to have the guy come and fix it...It just wouldn't stop leaking for my husband. It ended up being several things, and about $160.

So sorry to hear about all the problems coming at once and hope the AC gets sorted as it must be so uncomfortably hot. Poor Baby. Again I'm so sorry.

Sandra, I am so sorry. Bless Baby's heart. I pray the meds will work for her. Hope you get the a/c repair man to show up. Saying a prayer for all.

I am so sorry!! Lots of 'bad luck' lately, huh? We have a little window unit like yours in our guest room. Back when Louis Dean and I were dating (which was just a few weeks!) he would stay in the guest room. My A/C went out the week we were getting married and he bought a window unit and Ben and I slept in there. It is still running and cooling as well as it ever did! We have a BIG window unit (also a heater) in the den and our bedroom as well as in the sewing room. So basically we have central air AND room units that cool the whole house. We usually use a combination of the two. At night we turn OFF the central unit and use only our bedroom window A/C.
What do women do who are NOT married to handy men??

Oh my gosh- you really did get hit by murphy! I changed all of my insurance over to quarterly and it really helped. You are very lucky to be married to a handyman! Hope your Sunday is stress (and heat) free.

When it rains, it pours, Sandra. We just paid our taxes and homeowners. I know all too well about high Vet bills but most will let you pay over time...I will pray for Baby as she is still my favorite!!...:)JP

Sandra I am so sorry that you have had all those things go wrong - wish I had a million to send you! I have had the very same thing happen a few times over the years - I can relate. Hugs.

Everything happens at once!!!! I am sorry and feel your pain. Hope Baby is okay. It will be nice to know if the air conditioning man gets back to you soon. I know it is really hot down there. Good luck!

I've found that an amazing reservoir of future comfort and strength can be gained by facing such a train of events in as light a spirit as possible. Hang in there! <3

I would say you are now due for some good times without having to spend tons of money.

I'm also always grateful that I have a handyman husband. Hope your maintenance expenses are at an end now, Sandra. I pray for Baby's swift recovery, too.

EW! This has not been a very good weekend for you! I'm so glad you have a small unit to at least keep your bedroom cool. I'm feeling very sad for Baby, though. I hope she's staying cool.

I love your spirit and I hope Baby will be OK. One good thing about living here is that is cools down at night, it's in the 40s or 50s now when we wake up. Still very hot during the day. Will keep Baby in my thoughts.

When it rains, it pours. Sorry about all the expenses, but especially about Baby Girl. I hope she and your air conditioning get fixed quickly!

Poor Baby Girl. Hope she feels better. It is true about it all happening at once. Don't know why. It most often happens that all the appliances break down at once it seems. Hope you have a better next week!!

It is just evil when the bills decide to gang up on us. It is so wrong! lol
You should check out the homemade AC systems people are making on Youtube. Some are very crafty and they say they work too.

isn't that the way it always goes. When it rains it pours. I don't know why all these things can't spread themselves out more to make it easier on the budget.
I hope Baby is feeling better soon.
Thankfully you at least have that air conditioner for the bedroom.

Ida said...

Isn't that how it always goes. Wow you are still in the 90's...we've at least cooled down to the 80's this week.
I hope your dog is better soon. Stay cool.

Oh my, what a painful week.
Some of our payments do that too. The costs change but the fixed income doesn't.
Hope your sweet Puppy gets better asap.
May this week be better for all of you.

Poor Baby, I hope the meds have kicked in and she is feeling better.

A bad time for the A/C to go down. What would we do without our handymen? Steve and I were talking about having to hire people to fix stuff for us and how much it would cost, glad we haven't had anyone other than cable guy in here since we bought the house.

Beatrice P. Boyd said...

We had one of your weeks a few weeks ago, Sandra. Everything that Pat went to work on did not work, luckily things got sorted out and hope the same happens for you.

Rose said...

Oh, our AC has done that twice...where it won't kick off until we throw the breaker. There was a little switch that gets stuck and Roger has replaced it twice.

Our AC is probably 18-20 years old and now makes different kinds of sounds...and Roger says the compressor might be going out. I just hope when it does, it is not so hot and humid we can't stand it.

We do have a window unit...if it still works. It hasn't been used much, but knowing how things sometimes go for us, too, I would not bet on anything.
