Engine 75 Steam Engine, still runs and pulls the cars at Florida Gulf-coast Railroad Museum on week ends
click on photo to see all the steam |
We chose to walk up to the engine and watch them feed the coal in... As you can see, not many made that choice. The boy in the center is Brandon, and his mom is to the right in the jeans. She is my friend Rene and is the lifeguard at the YMCA..
Did I mention the NOISE? woooo woooo and chug chug chug and bumpa lumpa bumpa lumpa woo woo woo'
Yes, we did get a little sooty, but it was worth it. These photos were taken in Feb 2010

What a great looking train. Any idea of how many years that engine has been running the rails? I would have gone up to watch them feed the coal in. I had to cover my ears a bit with all that train noise....lol
pretty neat, but i can't imagine traveling that way these days. :)
Your pictures are beautiful Sandra.
I enlarged the one you said and it is really amazing
to see like your there.
My train brain hubby will love this archive dive.
Happy rainy Saturday

It seems that trains, especially the steamers, have a fascination for all.
You captured the steam really well. All are super photos. And I love that shot you used for your header today.
I'm with Cecilia..my hubby would have had us up there watching too!!! He is a lover of all things train! I am more of a deep liker ;-)
I would have gone too. I would have to see every nut and bolt in the entire train. I have been on one train in a theme park. Den had only trains for transportation for years. He does not miss them but I want to ride again.
I would say it was worth it...always love to see how things run or are made.
What a coincidence! I rode on a heritage train yesterday - engine 136, though. ;)
Looks like a lot of fun!
Someday - soon - I want to photograph a steam engine chugging along. It has been on my bucket list for far too long.
