Repost of a Sunday Miracle from 2012

Sunday at 7:51 AM I found this Gulf Fritillary caterpillar hanging on the chain over the bananas.

In ONE HOUR this little guy hung upside down, and started to swing  back and forth, while I stood and stared and of course Snapped! from above  to below in under and hour. I checked on the web and found this info.
Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) caterpillar sheds skin to reveal a fresh chrysallis underneath. The swinging motion is to shed the skin. it only took 10 minutes to go from caterpillar to below.

I hope 15 days later you took a photo of the butterfly and that you will show it to us again 15 days from now!

Amazing photos and post.

Mother Nature gifts us so much. I'm glad you were able to witness this miracle. They are all around us. Sometimes I forget to stop and look.

Thanks.

Oh this is very interesting Sandra to have seen all.

Perfect timing. We really only have the Monarch butterfly where I lived before and now so will be interesting to see what you get.

That was super cool. I've never seen the caterpillar or the butterfly before. It's fascinating to watch the time lapse video.
