What is a snakes favorite subject? Hiss-tory
What do you call a snake with no clothes on? Snaked
Southern Black Racer, Black snake, Eastern racer are the common names for this guy. He keeps the rodent population under control. These beautiful snakes are harmless to people. We do them no harm..
Taken through the gap in our partially open garage door, he was sunning in the driveway until the clicking camera put him on the move.
While playing with the camera I realized i could see the sink. SNAPPED!

What a magnificent snake. Natural ways to keep down rodents. I wish people in our country would learn this. They kill the snakes then put down poison when the rats infest the place and kill other animals such as owls. Grr. Thanks for sharing.
I don't mind snakes so long as they are in a picture. These are nice pictures of that one. I saw that about the rat on her blog yesterday. That's pretty fascinating.
Ohhhh very pretty from 4 states away!!
when I was a child my friend and I were chased up a hill by one of them.
Yep true story our dads were fishing we decided to go back up to the house. I guess, on the way of the hill we scared it or something! It chased us all the way to the porch door.
I love love love your RED camera!!
Hugs Cecilia
Okay, think I'll slither along now. Do love that camera!
Hooray for harmless snakes who keep the rodent population down!
I would not like to meet him in my driveway.
your header is absolutely gorgeous! great shots of the snake!
Great shots.
Wonderful story about the life saving rats. What a brilliant idea. I have read there are researchers that use dogs as an early detention system for some cancers.
I have to say I like snakes - when I can't see them. I do appreciate their work tho. Great shots.
gorgeous snake!
What a great capture!! Just love the way it lifts its head while it is "racing"!
I'm afraid that I don't like snakes even though I know some of them are really helpful to us.
I will enjoy yours from the blog.
It looks like you are having a great time with your pretty red camera.
I do not like snakes. Glad he is harmless. I watched that video when you shared it on Facebook and found it fascinating.
Great capture. Your camera is beautiful Sandra.
Black racer--does this mean he can outrun the Madsnapper? He's quite a handsome fella. Or gal.
I read if you have a female black racer living in your yard they will keep the poisonous snakes away. we always left our black racers alone. :)
