March Annual Complaint

March Annual Complaint Time is here.  Bob said look in the pool. Yellow Slime every where. Our eyes are itching and we are sneezing

While looking up in our Lobolly Pine tree, I said Look at all those thingys. I have never seen so many before...

Then I said, I know what they are but can't remember... Then  I found this in a former post in 2010 and every year since then...

They are strobili and there are males and females. Above is the female. Below is all the males..

It is a "female strobili" when the bud sprouts like this, it is part of cross pollination process

I bent and picked up two of the CULPRITS that are spraying yellow pollen Every Where and said Wow, I have not seen this before..... REALLY?

It seems I have taken photos of this in the past and posted about this in the past and HAVE NO MEMORY OF IT.....
The not so funny thing is, I have posted several times about this CLICK HERE for 2014 post

And it appears I have a LABEL that has shows 5 post on this very subject in the past.. I am really getting worried over these senior moments.

At least every day is a new day and I can post about things I have already posted and forgotten and HOPE that all of you have forgotten I posted about them.

female strobili up close and cropped. do not pick one, your fingers will stick together forever

Lets just pretend we have forgotten about them, see, no more worries. Warm greetings!

I do this type of stuff, too. And sometimes it is over stuff I am simply amazed I forgot. Stuff I would about swear I had never done, but will come across pics as proof.

Good morning, Sandra! The way my memory is, this is the first time you have posted about these culprits spraying pollen everywhere. The pine cones are sticky icky!

Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week!

Better than Super Glue!

This is amazing and pretty in it's own right...the cycle of life.

I never gave any thought to a pine tree having pollen like that!!! I always think allergies are about flowers.

Why does it seem that there is yellow stuff coming off of every type of plant this time of year??!!

We say keep on posting about anything that pops into your mind, chances are we forget just as much as you do ;-).

Hi Sandra, never mind, I agree that every day is a new day! Those stroboli look strange and I can imagine the stickiness. The pollen would make my grandson, Joel sneeze, for sure. Have a great day. Jo

I have no recollection of you posting about this before so it's all good for me. :)

As we get older life just gets more exciting.Always 'new' things to discover, even if we have already seen them before. There has to be an upside to getting older and this is it. LOL

Yikes, those little plant rascals! I hope you survive the pollen season. :-((

I do the same thing, Sandra. My parents home was surrounded with tall pines and we called those thingys "pine bombs!" I remember my throat being so scratchy and the porch, car, window shutters being covered in yellow pollen. Ugh!

Ditto for me. The longer I blog, the more forgetful I get. That pine pollen is all over the place here too and wreaking havoc on my allergies. I keep my little 3 year old grandson during the week while his parents work and he can't stop sneezing to save his life! We are quite the pair.

this happens to me too. I have to go back and see what fruit tree blossoms I have posted each year. Seems like they all are beautiful but look the same.
Achoo!! Hope the pollen doesn't get worse and you two stay healthy.

The longer I blog, the more I realise that I too have lots of annual complaints that are more or less the same from year to year :) And it is also a fact that the longer I blog, the more often do I find old posts (popping up in my linkwithin feature) that I had completely forgotten I ever wrote...

Fingers will stick together forever--and we wonder how you know this. Pollen has a side effect of memory loss. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
