Stephens House-Manatee Historical Village

HEY..HGTV.. this bedroom is ONLY 80 sq. feet and has no attached bathroom.. In fact the potty is out in the back yard.. The bath part is sitting on the dresser. Feel like crying? hold your home made teddy bear while rocking to comfort yourself.

Or step out on the back porch and enjoy the room while sitting in the porch swing.

Now get up and take 10 steps off the porch to pump the water for your bath and cooking...

I am so bad... this is a 7 AM update to this post... Guess what I forgot??? Bob says this morning whit our first cup of coffee... What is today's date? MS thinks a full minute and says OH!

Today is our 31st Anniversary and I totally forgot... and this is not the first time. soooo To Bob and Myself..

I can't tell you how many times I think how nice it would have been to live in such a simple time. When you think about it though, how simple was it really? I need a bit of the old fashioned with all the modern conveniences...lol

OH NO TELL ME IT AIN'T SO...NO MASTER BATH WITH DUAL VANITY, JACUZZI, SEPARATE SHOWER WITH 2 SHOWER HEADS. NO GRANITE COUNTER TOPS, NO FANCY STOVE AND NOW FAUCET AT THE STOVE TO FILL UP YOUR POTS!!!!HOW EVER DID THEY SURVIVE WAY BACK THEN?

The room is so small, but I guess a person only needs a bed to sleep in and then their out of there, lol.

Happy Monday, have a great new week ahead!

Happy 31 Years together!!!! Hugs to you both!!!
I would never want a huge house unless 3 or 4 generations are living together. Some homes seem like hotels.

Happy, Happy Anniversary.
Here's to many more "memorable" years. (:0)
Being retired, it seems the days just roll on by. Sometimes Dave and I just ask each other what day it is....
Enjoy your day and I love the animation of the giraffes intertwined.

Happy anniversary! Isn't it usually the husband who forgets the day? lol

Seeing how people used to live in the past ought to make us thankful what we have nowadays!

Happy Anniversary!!!

This bedroom was when that was all you needed. A rather fancy one at that...a single. We know that is rare! How many young ones fit in a single bed?

Happy happy anniversary to you two!!! We've been there ourselves a lot in the past...forgetting what special day it is. I remember one time, we were laying new tiles on the floor and by the time we were have way through covered in grout, we realized it was our anniversary. LOL

Loved the tour. Charm in those old historic places there is!!!

Very Happy Anniversary wishes to you both. Hope that you do something special to celebrate, even if it's just spending time together at home. And, things sure were simplier years ago, even if a but on the tight soace side.

The tiny bedroom reminds me of the caretaker's quarters in a lighthouse we visited.

Happy (but belated) Anniversary. - Hope you did do something special to celebrate. Can't imagine living in such a small space but atleast it would be easier to keep clean.
