While walking my laps around the pool, early AM on Dec. 17th, 2017, I saw the weed on the fence had turned orange. From there I could see the pines, oak grapefruit and palm trees.
Snapping away, enjoying the cool 69 degrees with bright sun, I almost missed the contrails of two planes. we are only 40 miles from Tampa Airport and McDill AFB base, 3 miles from Sarasota Bradenton Airport and 30 from 2 airports in Saint Pete. This makes contrails a common sight.
I noticed they crossed and at times looked like a sword blast from above. . Or maybe a Star Ship blasting someone in the yard next door.
notice the trees at top and bottom, I was standing by our pool looking straight up, we are surrounded by trees |

They are just lovely! My very favorite is the tall picture, with the tall trees in front of the fat jet trail. That is just a lovely picture. The wide diagonal line plus the tall lines of the trees make a spectacular shot. The orange leaves are so pretty. My second favorite is the tall palm tree towering over the roof of the house. At first I thought the roof was a fence. But no! The tree is so tall that is is higher than your house. We have none anywhere around here, so I always like seeing them.
I'm sure there are a lot of people that are looking forward to blue skies again!

First of all I'm a bit jealous of the 69 degree temperature. Love the view and it does look like those could be sword blasts. At least it's a more exciting tale than a plane flew by :)
What a glorious day to be outside and enjoying nature and the warmness around. Have a wonderful holiday and best wishes!
Such a gorgeous day to take photos. We have enjoyed a couple of days of 65 degree weather. So pleasant.
And i can hear the sound of that Star Wars sword. Have you checked on your neighbors to see if they've recovered? Lol. We have that same orange weed i think. Ours, which i always call Virginia Creeper ? turns orange in September. Enjoy your 69 degrees. They're talking about temps far below zero here by Christmas. I'll be thinking of you doing laps around the pool. Merry Christmas
Pretty December sky and nice temperature for your morning walk. Warmer here for a few days and then maybe a white Christmas!
What a beautiful blue sky and the last picture with the sunburst and contrails...WOW!!
I always love seeing the contrails in the sky. The other day there were so many that made crisscrosses and I of course forgot to get my camera out and get a photo. We don't live near airports being between KC and ST Louis but they sure keep the skies interesting some days. I guess the right weather makes a difference on the contrails showing up.
If I don't get back here before Christmas, I wish you and Bob a very Merry Christmas and happy, healthy New Year!
Great snap MS...I love the air writings too.
Hugs Madi
You got some great shots!
'X' marked the spot in that last shot...
It is funny...here we are about an hour away from a major airport. Somedays the sky is still full of contrails...others just a few. There is the airport in Terre Haute, but it is not like a major airport. Other than Indy, the next two closest would be in Chicago or St. Louis...
Hello Sandra, love the views looking up from your yard. The palm trees are a favorite. The contrails and sky captures are pretty. Have a happy day!
69 degrees - that sounds so wonderful. I love your imagination - Star Wars!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I'm surrounded by military airports here, not that close, but I do get a lot of contrails too. What a good idea to walk laps around the pool. I guess I could start to walk laps around my house, up the hill, down the hill, and so on. Thanks for the good idea.
Space ships among us! haha...I love looking up and seeing those lines made by jets esp on such a beautiful blue sky!
Great shots. Contrails are interesting to see.I have seen several in the last year that have crossed in the sky. Makes for an interesting shot.
Lovely photos of the sky!!!! I love how the sun is like a star in one.
Some conspiracy theorists around here think that the government is spraying us with chemicals whenever they see contrails.
I just think that they're pretty!
You're so observant!
Funny the things we take for granted. I remember when, on 9/11, I worked in Safety Harbor. When all the flights were grounded thereafter somebody pointed out how it felt so strange, not seeing the contrails from TIA and MacDill.
Great photos! I wish I had known you when we were in your area several years ago! Ruth Ann’s daughter lives there. They are flying up here tomorrow to spend Christmas with Roy and Ruth Ann at their farm in Ranger, Texas.
Do all the trees bother your pool?
Oh my what a capture!
