Stop! Snap! Drive!

Twas A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood that I drive to get to the gas station where I paid $2.65 per gallon for gas (fuel, Petrol)
The sun was so bright it hurt my eyes.
I did not let the price ruin my day. I Stopped and Snapped EIGHTY ONE photos of old houses. Through My Windshield
Edits done in Windows 10 Photo Viewer and removed the bright sun, which washed out the pics because I was facing the sun. But all 81 of my photos of old houses show how beautiful the neighborhood is. Coming Soon a few at a time.

I took a photo at every stop sign. I Stopped not to smell the roses, but to fill my camera with OPPS.

Bob doesn't go with me, Stop Signs make him LOCO..

Bob told me a new story, one I have not heard 87 million times. When he lived in the country in PA, with his family, back in the 60's, he came out and the battery was dead on their only car.
He took and old washing machine motor, a block of wood and removed the belt from the generator, hooked it to the washer motor, stretched tight with wood, plugged it in the wall and
VOILA! instant battery charger... He is so clever.

Last stop before my home, look to bottom left for tiny palm, that is where our driveway is

This looks very much like our neighborhood. I know you are posting the houses, but for me the best thing is the trees. The tree in the first house picture is gorgeous!! So gorgeous that...house? What house? And then all the palm trees. And in the last picture those fancy short plants inside the curved flower bed. Bob is amazing! I can't wait to read this to Phil, he will get such a kick out of it.

I love these shots, Sandra; they convey the 'olde worlde' really well. Funny you should mention battery jumper-starts... my car battery died a death a week back. Am now the proud owner of a very neat little block. But if I'd known about the old washer and belt trick....... then again, purchasing those might have been trickier! YAM xx

I enjoyed the ride through the hood. I'm with Ginny, I like all the trees.
Your gas is cheaper than what it is here. It was $2.85 but just recently dropped to $2.79.

Good morning, your neighborhood is pretty. I like the trees and plants. Our gas ranges from 2.45 to 2.55. I heard Trump wants to increase the gas tax .25 cents, to pay for the infrastructure. So, these prices are cheap compared to what they will be soon.

Happy weekend!

I don"t even look at the gas prices. No matter what it is, gas is essential so, no use getting riled.

Pretty scenes. And I got confused trying to picture the make-shift charger.

The neighborhood looks lovely. I see the palm tree!! That was pretty cool how he charged his battery.

Bob lived in PA? I knew we were kindred spirits. The charger is something my uncle would have done.

Man...that Bob is really a keeper.
I love his ingenuity.
Gas here in California is always higher than any place else.
A bargin nowadays is $2.89.....
It seems money just flies out of our wallets at every turn.
Love your arty house photos too.

I filled up yesterday and it was 2.19 a gallon. A few days before it was 2.39. Your trees look so pretty compared to our barren trees this time of year. Although there is a certain beauty in the bare branches and I really love seeing the trees (can't think of the name of them right now) that look white and are so bright with the sun hitting them just right.

I haven't done that in a long time but I like taking pics of other people's houses! And the street names are crazy around here. Enjoy your weekend and this gorgeous weather! Hugs!

Wow! I thought $2.35 for a gallon of gas over here was pricy!

I love what you've done, contrasting the background in your header photo! I, too, love old homes' character and like to make up stories about their residents. Not the same thing, but have you checked out "Echoes of Time" on Facebook? I think you might enjoy those ...

I totally forgot to say 'congrats' to Bob on his ingenuity. Are you sure he and MacGyver aren't kin? :)))

I like how you think and also that you take every chance to get another photo.

Way to go, Bob, on solving that problem. I've been told that I tell the same stories over again, and even embellish! LOL

One thing I love about you is that you take every opportunity you can to find things to share on your blog. You have some interesting houses in your area. - I love your tiny palm tree by the way.
