Two Washers In Garage

The new and madly washing Washer is here,
Oh Dear! Oh Dear!
The defective washer is also here.
3 Loads down, 3 to go,
You all knew I would let you KNOW!
The fridge is cooling, the dryer is drying,
and now Madsnapper has stopped her sighing.

NOTE~ I used the photo from the web site for above picture, I did NOT put white and colored clothes in at one time....😉

Home Depot is to pickup the defective washer between 10 and 2 today, The day after Jessups delivered a wonder of wonder, working washer... I got so excited washing clothes and watching them spin through the see through top, I am late creating today's post.

Feb 16th our 20 year old washer spewed water all over the floor of the garage. Since all appliances were 20 years old, On Feb 18, I purchased Fridge, Washer, Dryer at the President Days Sale at Home Depot, with a savings of 200.00..
Let the fun begin.
Feb. 27 a week later, all 3 were delivered, the washer was destroyed when removed from box. Refused it and had to wait another WEEK for the second one, delivered on 3/7 and  turned out to be defective and would not run through cycles

On 3/8 I stood speaking loudly with the manager of Home Depot and got him to agree to pick up the defective washer and refund the money on my card. Target date of pickup????
Today, March 14, exactly 28 days after I purchased it.

The good news, is I went to a Private Owned Appliance store, Jessups. They saved the day and delivered a washer on the 13th. After listing to my tale of woe, Jessups also gave me their President Day sale price on the washer even though that day was weeks in the past.

Now there are TWO washers in the garage and My Kia is in the driveway.  I am sure it will be 2 and not 10 before they pick up the defect, and then the battle of WHEN will I GET MY MONEY BACK BEGINS...
I have threatened with calling Channel 8, our local go to for consumer problems, and hope that was sufficient. I also have a recording of the manager telling me, after pickup he would refund to my charge.. Waiting For Battle

Hugs Madi and mom
We are so glad you have your washer. I cannot imagine more than a day or 2 w/o one.

It really does pay to go to the small guys - they have a local reputation to keep up! A week ought to be more than enough for a refund of monies, so I'd be refusing the pick-up also if it's not in your account by now. But you're clearly onto it - and HOOORRRAAHHHH for the new washer!!! YAM xx

Good grief, how frustrating!! Hope there's not an issue with the money back. Sure shouldn't be.

You are so smart to use this threat! I am sure it will get your money back! Let me know what happens. What should have been a very happy time turned into a nightmare for you, I am so very sorry. But it seems like you are having fun now! Nothing like something not working to make us appreciate the things we don't usually. I wondered why you had not posted last night. I wait up for your posts, and have a party in my head while waiting. Now, I want to hear all about the names, models, features of all the new appliances. Because we will likely soon start needing them, ours must be WAY over 20 years old. I have always disliked Home Depot. Fortunately, we have Home Depot and Lowes right across the highway from each other. And it is super that you supported a locally owned store!

Wow that is some story. I hope it gets resolved in the right manner. What a pain in the butt. - Sounds like the new machine is great though.

Glad you are washing clothes at home now!!! Amazing how quickly they can deposit your money in their account and it takes forever to refund it! Hope they do you right.

What an ordeal!! and I did not notice they had put colored clothes in with the whites! You notice EVERYTHING!!!
We are having a saga situation with the bathroom here at the ranch. The kids were all here over the weekend making that EIGHT people using my teeny tiny bathroom! Louis Dean has been dragginh his feet about getting theat toilet up and running and I think I found he has a true stubborn streak in him! I ceased to ask about it or say another word in response to his plans for the bathroom.
The kids left yesterday and he went right to work on that potty! Today it was all nearly done when something happened and he had to take it back up. He's gone to rown now to get whatever it is that he needs so MAYBE it will be working soon. Then maybe he will put up a wall so we can actually use it!!!
