Our Ferns are 2 to 4 feet high.. They grow and spread and requires pulling and tossing. My Dad's Mom used to have these ferns growing in pots on her back porch in Savannah, GA.. She took them inside in the winter months. Down here they grow like weeds when planted in the ground. One small plant, can and will take over the whole property.
This is the way they looked using auto setting on camera, the other photos same spot, but using exposure settings and zoom lens |

Wow, totally amazing with the change! I wouldn't have a clue how to do this. You actually create beauty.
I have always liked ferns. I had one years ago but me being me, I killed it.
The ferns are lovely! I have always wanted to have a yard full of ferns, but they don't do so well in our yard up here in IL. I have one that comes back year after year, but it never grows much bigger or expands.
P.S: This is us from The Daily Pip. We changed our blog name to My Rescued Life
Incredible ferns. Our wild ones are like that too. They're abundant in the ditches. I moved a few to my pond garden. I wonder if they'll try to take over like the wood violets do.
The auto settings are getting better and better but sometimes it just takes that extra adjustment with manual for a more realistic photo.
We have the same ferns all over our yard (mainly along foundations). Tbey can be invasive & thinning them out, they have urine odor. I still like 'em. Love your photos...very dramatic shadowing.
They...not tbey
I love ferns but have none in my back yard. I go to the parks and enjoy them. Love your photos and those shadows and light.
Hello, I love ferns. The bigger the better. I see them growing in the forest next to our home, some are green year round and some are annuals. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
So glad you told 'auto' to sit down and shut up! What a super illustration of perspective!
I wonder if ferns do well in Alabama? Our temperatures don't show any sign of cooling. :(
Ummm you have me wondering if per chance I would be a good fern mother.
They seem to be very hearty.
Great shots of the sun on their gorgeous leaves

That is amazing. I used to pay a bunch for hanging baskets of ferns for my front porch. Very pretty.
Wow! What beautiful shadow painting those ferns do!
We have ferns in the woods here, and also in one of the parks rather close to where I live. I love to see them in spring when they are "uncurling"...
I don't understand how so m any luscious green plants and flowers grow there in that heat and sun!
Yes,auto is not always the best way to go.I love the rich color in those fronds.
They look so lush!!! I love your non-auto photos of them (auto can really kill the intrigue and lushness, don't you think?). I cannot imagine having them growing like weeds on my land. Wow!!!
We have ferns on one side of our house. I just love their fronds.
