Funny today! The fire station looks just a bit Spanish influenced.
That's a long wait at the light. Good thing about waiting though is it gives you time to take pictures. Your firehouse looks nothing like the one here.
Bwaaahaaa at the butterfly joke! Our traffic lights (called robots in SA) take 45 seconds to change. Too quick! We also have three phase light sections which makes traffic flow easier. I love the name on your fire station. I work in a center called Cedarwood Shopping Center! Thanks for this interesting post!

There is one intersection in our city I get stuck at a 'red' every blessed time!! I guess I could find another way home, but, other than that light, it's so convenient. Yes, I believe you.

That's crazy about eating a plum while sitting at the light. However I believe you because by my dad they have the longest lights I've ever sat through. I like the butterfly joke.

Sitting on the corner, watching all the cars go by … sitting, sitting. Aaaargh! I like your example of eating a whole plum to describe the wait -- something all of us can relate to (vs. how many minutes).
Traffic lights can be so frustrating sometimes especially when there is no traffic either way and the light won't let you go. I've actually gone through a red light when I'm the only on sitting there. Don't tell, haha Love the butterfly quote, makes you wonder though haha.
Yesterday we drove through lots of traffic lights on green. Hubby said 'that's good', but I said 'don't speak too soon, we have one more before we get home' and what do you think happened?...Yes, stuck on a hill with lights on red. Sometimes on that hill you can wait ages because it's on the tram route and everything stops for the tram to go by.
That joke was funny!
