Cursed!

In the interest of not wasting your time, I will try to write the Case of the Cursed Glasses in short sentences.
November 25, 2019, eyes examined at Free Clinic
My prescription changed drastically in 2 years.

I ordered these glasses, with promise of week to 10 days delivery
12 days, no glasses, I call office, she says, they sent them to our Palmetto office, you can drive there are pick them up here in 2 days.
I chose 2 days, day 16 she calls and says, they put the wrong prescription in one side.
we are sending them back, will be another 10 days.

Jan 15th, I pick up the glasses.
I can see really well, but can't see the computer screen, I use 10 year old progressive lens to see computer, and suffer trying to read though the  bifocals with lines.
Also the are not antiglare, so the lights of cars driving behind me glare.
I suffered through with HOPE for new progressive lens in the future.

I go to the optical shop where I purchased my expensive glasses, and order Progressive Lens, in my titanium lightweight frames, and will not publish the price I paid just in case Hubby reads this post.

I will not tell him unless he ask me, so far he has not. THINK YOWSA expensive.
She says Week to Ten Days.

I sigh with joy, thinking in 10 days I can stop making ten trips a day going back to take off computer glasses and put on SEEING glasses, because I keep standing up and walking off with computer glasses and don't realize it until I can't see the TV or what I am cooking on the stove or read my kindle.

Keep in mind this is not the same optical shop.

I should have known the glasses were cursed, because I came out of the shop and went to open the car door and there was a BLOODY Palm Print on the handle to my car.
I kid you not!
My what iffer started its scenarios of Aids, Hepatitis C, Jack the Ripper came and missed me...
and led off down another track trying to decide Just How It Got there.

Finally on Jan 23, 2 MONTHS since I ordered my new glasses, the free pair, they email I can come get the NEW, better, expensive glasses.
I race to the shop!
Excited to the Max.
She sits the new glasses on my face and I can't see a thing.
I say these are not right.
She says, it takes a while to get used to them.
I hold up my hand in STOP position.

These are not right. The ones I have on I see perfectly, it is the same prescription, these were free those were NOT...
She says while tapping the prescription, why would you put an old prescription in new lens.
(she is not the person I ordered them from)
I wanted to scream. I try not to raise my voice, and say it IS A NEW PRESCRIPTION.
Then I notice something else, my lens were round on the side, not square.
She has the nerve to say, that doesn't matter. I said oh YES IT DOES!

She says let me have the glasses you have on.
She goes in the back with both pair and comes back and says they sent the wrong glasses.
These are not your prescription.

What are the odds that two different optical shops, two different lens factories, would both make a mistake on two separate pairs of glasses and put the wrong prescription in.
At least the free glasses, she checked them before she called me, and found they were wrong.
the ones I PRE paid hundreds of dollars for, they did NOT check before I went over there.

I AM WAITING ANOTHER TEN DAYS. plus still walking off with the wrong glasses on my face.
I actually last week, got in the car and realized I could not SEE because I had the wrong glasses on.
Someone Help Me Please...
I might tell the INSURANCE STORY of Bob's Derm Doc visit, if  I ever get it straight enough to tell

I am beside myself with frustration for you...again, there ought to be some sort of financial relief for you with all they have done wrong...even the free ones should have to pay you for gas and time!

Oh my gosh! I would be beyond frustrated. I hope that this is figured out soon. I do exactly the same thing with my glasses. Put on readers to see computer, and then stand up and go to do something else with my readers on. GRRR.

Oh my gosh. What an ordeal - ridiculous.
My glasses from before the newest ones are titanium frame; oval progressive lens. I also opt for glass lens. Notice said 'are'. That's because they 'are' the ones I wear.
The newer ones have square corner lens and you have me thinking. They have just never suited me and its fortunate that there was only a slight change in prescription so I can limp along with the old ones.
I have also thought about getting readers but you may have steered me away from that.
I don't have glasses coverage with Medicare A or B.

Good grief! That is just ridiculous! I don’t blame you for being irritated! It’s a good thing you are retired! You’ve spent so much time trying to get good glasses!

Seriously?!?!?!?! Can you hear me screeching up here? I'd be soooo frustrated and sick to my stomach. Don't want to get anyone in trouble or lose their job(s), but would make sure that woman's manager knew.

Mostly, I'm gaping about the bloody handprint. How on earth did you get in? When my granddaughter was clerking at CVS someone paid with bloody coins. As a result, her manager made her undergo Hepatitis vaccines.

I tell you what - in every job I've ever had I'd be fired! My son would be sued in his profession. That is absurd. What is it with blood on your car handle? Did I read that right?

I can hardly believe this! But I have had this problem twice in a row. Not like THIS though. Wish I had known! $50.00 to join Costco for the year and they have a crack optical team. Their glasses are all dirt cheap and they have a lot of frames. It would be worth it just to get the glasses cheaper. But the BLOOD!! Did you examine yourself? Did you find blood anywhere in the house? This would freak me out till I knew what is going on! I wear bifocals, and also have computer glasses. My computer glasses have a design on the earpieces that is textured. So all I need to do is feel them and I know which glasses I am wearing. Way back 20 years ago or so, I had a really complicated prescription that almost no one got right. Plus my eyes have a bad reaction to the most common type of glass, and I see auras. So a pair cost over $300.00. I can well imagine how terribly frustrated you are!!! I am not even laughing because I feel so bad for you. Now I buy mine at Costco and pay $75.00 for both frames and lenses.

Brother...what a terrible saga, Sandra.
How inept!!
Quality control ...where was it??
Stupid...bad word but it says it all.
I do hope you finally get this all straightened out.
I'm happy with my glasses but Dave has never been satisfied with his...I really hate the thought of having to go through what you are going through.

Hello,

Wow, you have been through too much for your glasses. I would be very mad, having to deal with the wrong glasses and the customer service. Were did that blood come from, that is spooky.

Oh brother, what a headache. Could they possibly make it any more frustrating for you?
Did you ever figure out where the bloody hand print came from on your door handle?

I think I've solved your problem: You say you went in for an eye exam on November 25, 2020. Since November 25, 2020 is almost ten months from today, your correct glasses are in the "future" file. I hope they arrive then in good order!!

Best,
Bonnie

I cannot believe what I am reading. What a mess! So much incompetence today in our world. They shouldn't be making so many mistakes. I got some progressive glasses about 2 years ago. I don't wear them for the computer. I couldn't get use it them.
