Butterfly Magic, Don't quit

This butterfly fell in our pool, Bob scooped him out, and I put him in the sun. We waited, no movement,  I poked it gently and  He fluttered. I poked gently  over and over making it flutter its wings in the sun. Suddenly it lifted into the air and it was Butterfly Magic.

Yes, OF COURSE I took a quick pic and rushed it to ER Lunapic for emergency surgery and you know the rest of the story.

Hi Sandra, so glad the butterfly survived. I'm forever rescuing bugs which fall into the cats' water bowls. I love the way you lunapic'ed the photo. I need to go back and "play" again. Have a great day. Jo

Dont you wish all surgery was that easy?

Gotta say again, how much I LOVE your tender hearts. Watching the butterfly revive, then fly away sounds like a religious experience.
Hope you both are feeling much better today?

I'm glad you were able to rescue it. The other day, an earth worm came crawling toward me on my floor. I picked it up and put it in the soil of my soon to be dead amaryllis. I don't know if it's still in there, but will check today.

They do need to dry their wings in the sun, I think... Probably to heavy to move they're still wet?

Reminds me of one time years ago when I had a butterfly seeking its final resting place on my balcony. It sat there on the floor with its wings spread, in the sun... Not bothered about me. I fed it some sugary water from a teaspoon and it drank a little, but did not move. I checked on it now and then and after a number of hours it was dead. I guess it was just time... I remember I took it outside and "buried" it under a tree, even though I realize that most butterflies probably don't get a funeral!

It's really pretty and your edit with the quote is perfect. That would make a really nice card.

I love when we are able to save something like that. I did that with a hummingbird last year.
