Nature Friday from our neighborhood

This house may not appeal to all of you, but it does to me. I love that red door, but I would remove the wreathe on the door, but I love the xeriscape front yard.

Xeriscape in Florida means drought tolerant and water wise and also will do well in sub tropical rains.

Below are a few of the plants popped into Photoscape just because!

Bob can now lift his coffee cup and fork to his mouth with his right hand. I told him yesterday, he can open jars, lids etch for me, since my hands are so painful and I will reach things for him that require stretching the arm out.
A fine pair!
UPDATE!  computer/internet problems, coming and going. see you when we see you I hope

I love the yard and unique garden! I have never seen one like it. The house looks a bit like ours. I agree, the wreath is just too much. What is the tall blue container, a flower pot? I like everything about it!

i agree about the wreath, but I love the pictures. I'm glad you and Bob complement one another so well. :)

I have problems with my right shoulder right now so I feel for Bob. I sort of have to maneuver it around to use it and can't lift anything. Oh well as my old Doctor would have said 'you have another hand'. lol

I like the garden. Those even look like plants that I would have a hard time killing.
I like the wreath but I don't like the way it hides the windows underneath it.

Hello,

I love the garden and the door. Very pretty plants. I am glad you and Bob are able to move! Take care and enjoy your day!

You two are working things out well.

The landscaping like this I saw in EVERY yard in Tucson where we lived for a decade before moving to the sub-tropics. I got so tired of it....but miss the mountains around Tucson with the saguaro giants.

I too would NOT do away from the door color by adding/hanging anything.

I do find that home appealing, Sandra, and agree about the wreath. Such garden-scaping is common in Australia for the same reasons - most of those plants fall under the category of 'bromeliad' and they are very attractive. YAM xx

I sure hope the internet/computer problems get fixed..I feel your pain there. Drives me crazy when they won't work.

I am so glad Bob is improving...

I LOVE red doors...they don't need wreaths or anything...at least not that wreath. And I love the yard, too.

LOVE how that red door and yellow paint complement one another! Ummmm… having lived 16 years with a rock yard (Arizona), I'm still loving our green grass -- rogue weeds and all. Were it not for all this rain, tho' the water bills might be astronomical.
Soooo glad to hear Bob's doing better. And you? Any news?

I would be very happy to live in that house with the bright red door and garden. Never heard of Xeriscape before. I have added it to my list of words and new meanings. Your photos are great and also your collages. Good to hear Bob has more mobility in his arm. As I get up out of bed I usually give a little grown ;) I remember an older friend telling me - when I was a lot younger as she groaned in a similar way, at this age we come with sound effects. I remember that even more vividly these days, lol!

I like the plants that don't need as much water.

And you two are good and helpful for one another.

That is how Rick and I work - he does the work around the house from the waist down and I do all the cleaning from the waist up. My knees are bad.

Very different from anything I see around here, but it seems wise to have plants that are adjusted to the climate you actually live in! Glad you and Bob can "cooperate" to make things work...

Those plants are perfect for your area. they seem to thrive in your drought climate.
All of our trees and plants were firmly established when we moved in 13 years ago. I do love the lush feel of everything.
they actually did very well in our last drought too.
I'm so sorry your hands are still giving you so much trouble. i hope the meds will do their trick as the weeks go on. Also glad you two are a "working pair" again.
Temps are suppose to get to 95F to 100F today. Probably won't walk until dusk today.
Lawn guys just finished here and we looked out and saw they had trimmed our Mulberry tree..now we don't have a crop..and we don't have Crazy Birds dive bombing us because they are tippsy from the berries..

Well it won my heart with the red door. I agree about the wreath and I love your fancy pants collages

Read a whole bunch of your posts but will just post one comment due to vision issues. Hope shoulder gets repaired so hands get better soon . I was amused about no am coffee post and get how stress can do that. I love your Caftan and your shopping outfit too. Cheerios are no longer a hit as they contain more corn than oat flour. We now use Alpen and almond milk. Less dairy but calcium substitutes. We do make cheese on rye and have cottage cheese with berries..
Stay safe during these crazy times. Too bad we had to live to experience such a sickening event on this globe. It is sad that we will require a vaccine in the future so we can move and travel freely.Buddy is worried. He misses our trips away while I can still see.
