Walking with Weeds and Flowers

Each day as I walk, I pass several of these beautiful flowers that we call Frangipani. I was shocked to find they are Plumeria, but also called many names..

They are a common sight in our neighborhood.

We think of Hawaiian Leis when we see them.

Weeds are also a common sight, which if fine with ME.
I am a WEED lover! to me these are as beautiful as any flower.
As a child, we made many leis and garlands for the head from weeds.
I have no idea what the name is. Let me know if you do.

Wow! The first two pictures look like a beautiful painting. One by Georgia O'Keffe. The color depth and shading is gorgeous! I have not seen these, they probably don't grow around here. Weeds is a dirty word to me. They are wildflowers. Wildflowers with tenacity and strength. I told Phil when they bury me, I want wildflowers on my coffin, not roses. This little purple one looks dusted with sparkles.

I think the name Frangipani is more beautiful than Plumeria ... and yes, it is a very beautiful flower! Hugs!

That first flower is gorgeous. I am a weed lover too. If it has a flower on it I don't care if it is a weed.

Frangipani they will always be to me - plumeria being the Latin name.

Only gardeners refer to weeds; those being the flowers they didn't plant themselves and seek to destroy... YAM xx

I would love to know what thdcwold flowers are...and love the Frangipani too...every time I hear its name I have to look it up. Maybe this time I will remember.

I love those beautiful flowers and think of jewelry when I see them. I have a ring that has three blooms...in silver. It's a favorite. You would love all of the wildflowers and blooms in the forest right now. AND the yucca is blooming here and there in the woods...looks so pretty! Hugs!

I don't recall ever having seen Frangapani. It looks so milky soft; yes, like it belongs in a lei. But like you, I prefer wildflowers and weeds -- which have a distinctive beauty all their own. I need to go spray those making their way through our new rock -- what determination! -- but feel guilty doing so.

Plumerias are my most favorite flower...what gorgeous flowers, I love the way they smell too!!

To me a flower is a flower...even if it is a weed :-)

I really love that feathery purple weed.
Crowns of dandelions were a favorite of mine..also daisy chains of the little red and white clover flowers.
Plumeria sure makes me think of Hawaii and leis we got when we got off the plane.
Great memories.

Love nature's artistry, whether labeled flowers or weeds! I do, however, growl at some plants who take over rapidly and make my forays outdoors more difficult with my rollator! I attack those.

Sandra, I have heard that there are no such thing as weeds, which re just misunderstood wildflowers. And we collected a lot of those wildflowers in our VA yard, some on purpose and others by chance.
