Thankful Thursday Library

Library Image from their website, not my image

On our last ride with Big, we saw they had remodeled the library. I took low light Neon Signs but they did not come out.
they added a sun deck to read or compute outside with a view of the river.
I am thankful for our library
and thankful My mother was a reader and started me on books at an early age.

The reason for the post, is now they have things other than books and movies that can be checked out for free.
Power tools, Musical Instruments.
We can learn a language for free , read magazines and ebooks and listen to audio books on our computer and the best of all
We can check out free passes to a lot of our local musuems. A family pass to visit for free.
Across the street is the South Florida Museum, it is amazing and the cost is 14.00 per person, this free pass is a WOW.
Thankful people can get these things that they don't have.

I never heard the like! This is WAY cool! All ours has it books, movies, and magazines. Yours is a nice big building, but from what I can see there are not many comfy chairs on the deck. But in Florida, it may get too hot to get comfy there for very long.

Hello,

I love our local library too, they have a lot to offer. Your library is in a great location, pretty views. The sun deck is nice! Take care, enjoy your day!

Excellent opportunities for your community! Especially in this day & age where everything is so costly.

Ps...been so busy watching, reading, listening to election results, I failed to see there is a TS heading toward Florida next week?! Geez...another one? Hope it steers clear of your home!

I was impressed by the sun deck to go outside and read but all that other stuff that you can borrow is amazing. The free pass for the museum would be awesome because the $14 admission would stop me from ever going. I wonder if all libraries will follow suit. If not they should.

A good reminder, Sandra, on all the services and other things offered by libraries now. Ours has many of the same but without a nice outside deck. Of course, many of the passes to local attractions now have restrictions or are unavailable. Libraries have always been one of our favorite places to visit even on our travels, back when we did more of that😕

That's awesome! I wonder of our libraries down here in Venice have things like that now. I'm going to have to check and find out!

Its amazing what libraries are offering these days.
Glad they have come into the digital age, though I really love reading an actual book. I was a reader from a very early age too. My Mom and I always had our noses buried in a book. My Dad was a huge Bible study person and had every commentary and reference book around. I'm glad I inherited them, especially because they have his notes written right on the pages.

In my growing-up years, the Public Library was a magical place. Granted, ours is a small-town facility, but I've never heard of all those great features. Love the idea of someone being able to try out a musical instrument before his/her parents go and shell out big $ .....only to discover their kid really isn't that into it.

Sorry to be tardy -- long day in Birmingham.

That's wonderful! They are really taking care of the community. I used to ride up to my library when I was a kid, with my basket full of library books coming and going. I loved our library. Hope you are feeling less sore today :)

Libraries are great places these days they offer so much to the community. Ours were closed for a while during the worst of the first wave of CV. Yours has a great view.

I always loved libraries and read a lot.And then as I had some money I created a home library and my favorite was my cookbook collection. But those books are all gone and noe audio has to be my way to enjoy. Interesting that there are free ways tienjoy museums and other goods. Here places have closed till Covid is more under control. Scary that so much is shut down even globally.
