Losing my mind?

On of my favorite breakfast is grits, egg and cheese with rye toast.
I put a bag of instant grits in a bowl, stir in 1/2 cup water, stir in one egg, and microwave for 2 minutes, remove and stir in shredded cheese.
Since I eat like a labrador and it takes FOREVER for the grits to get cool enough to swallow, I dump it on the plate and add my Dark Rye toast. We prefer melba thin, 2 slice the calories of one reg.

I said to Bob, where is the ______? and stopped talking while openig and closing drawers because when he puts the dishes away it is never where it should be.
While looking he said What are you looking for?
I said you know the red thing we used to get stuff out of  bowls and pans and the last of the Peanut butter out of the jars.
Before I got the sentence out I found it and waved it at him and said WHAT IS THIS?
Spatula! OMW!
I could not think of the word Spatula.

Hello,

I usually always put the dishes away.. My memory is bad, hubby and I both have trouble thinking of words. It is like we have a contest who can come up with the right word first. Take care, enjoy your Sunday!

Same thing has happened to me at times, so you are definitely not alone, Sandra. By the way, I have never had grits.

Me, too! Except, more often I call something by another name. Judging from others' comments, maybe we should reserve an entire wing at the 'happy home'?

But only if they serve grits!

HaHa...you make me laugh....
You sound just like me..How can such easy everyday words totally escape me???
As my care-giving friend says..I'm 80 years old and I have too much stuff in my head...it's hard to get it out of there...
Maybe she's right..(:0)

Well, at least you found the Thing! :) My kitchen scissors were gone for four days, and it did not help that I knew the name of what I was looking for... (They turned up when I had stopped looking, of course - getting jealous of my paper scissors from the study taking their place...)

Welcome to my world. I so often can't remember a simple word.

Been there done that. I was having a conversation with one of the girls at work the other day and for the life of me I could not think of the word I wanted.
I wonder if putting things away in the wrong place is a man thing because Wade never put things away where they belonged. I found it infuriating because he knew where to get them when he needed them but couldn't remember to put them back there when putting them away

I hate when I can't think of a word! I get so frustrated....
Breakfast looks and sounds yummy.

Your breakfast looked yummy. I do the same thing, forget what I was going to say or forget what word I wanted to say. Ah...as Bette Davis said, old age ain't for sissies.

Our daughter is always rearranging things. As long as she tells us where things are, we don't have to search for them hahahaha.

I am still searching for the New Years cards I was going to send out and my new stamps. Argh....

Hoping everyone has a great week. HUGS
