Michael the Archangel

contiuned from yesterday post... I walked out of the ceramic store with...

 Michael the Archangel.
He stands on a trunk year round. I don't consider him a Chrismtas Angel, but a warrior angel, which is the job of the archangels in the Bible.

He spoke to me when I saw him and when I got him home, Bob said What NOW?

My answer was "He is BIG" but he is so fierce and I love Him"
He stands 19 inches tall at his wing tips.
He stands guard in our living room all year long.
One year, I put the whole nativity on the trunk, all the pieces and off to the side
Michale stood gurad over all of them.
I had candles burning and it made me feel good.
A friend stopped by for a minute and when she saw it she said
Hummmp, Looks like a shrine to me!

why is it that we remember vividly every word that hurts us for the rest of our lives?

Michael in Lunapic he guards the Herald Angels While They Sing

I could have named him other names, there are 7 archangels, but to me he is the angel that is spoken of as the leader of the army in the War in Heaven

Wow, I don't ever remember you posting him. He is very well taken care of, and impressive! I think I have never seen him in any of your Christmas posts!

He's fantastic. I'm annoyed at your snarky friend. It makes me happy when people do things that make them feel good...we need a lot more of that in this world.

I have a son born on the summer solstice. Named him Michael - angel of light. I like your St. Michael very much.

Words are just that! People can be cruel with words and not even know it. If you love it, that's what counts...pshaw to those who don't. Look at it this way, your friend was jealous she didn't get it before you!!! I like it very much.

...shrine??? Perhaps an altar, and jolly gorgeous it must have looked too!!! You may not have seen my own 'mandir', which gives folk pause when they peer in my front door! YAM xx

I think he's very impressive. People need to learn to mind their own business. If you like something that's all that matters!

He is quite magnificent! Glad you treated yourself. As for the thoughtless comment, as my dear mother-in-law used to say, people need to mind their own beeswax.

I think he is wonderful. Like you I wonder why we remember the hurtful things. And the more that person means to us, the more things hurt.

Michael the angel looks wonderful, Sandra, and it is hard to ignore hurtful comments, I understand. However, many people just don't think first before speaking, unfortunately.

This person was expressing HER shortcomings, not yours. None of that belongs to you.

Michael is beautiful and what amazing expression and attention to detail the artist gave him.

He is impressive. I guess he must lay his sword and shield down when he rows the boat ashore.

That is so cool! I love the story how you found and carried him him. A 'guardian angel', indeed! This reminds me of a sermon by my pastor in Clearwater many moons ago. I was so touched, in fact, I scribbled notes and included it in a later post. Leddy said:
"Remember when Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane? He said, my Father can summon 12 legions of angels. Now, if He was going to summon legions of angels they must be pretty tough. They weren’t exactly the lovely diaphanous creatures that we like to think of. Instead, they are a little like say, the great NFL linebacker, Lawrence Taylor. If you want an angel to go before you, don’t you want somebody like that?!"

BTW, I agree with others who called out about that woman for her snarky remark.

Well...I love him and we need Warriors in our lives.
It is funny how words can be so painful but ...
it's hard to let go..I know there have been those burrs under my skin too.
The detail in Michael is beautiful and perfect for your nook.
