My Kitchen is Back part 2

Day Time Night Time

In 2016  The Central Air quit while temps were in the high 90's,  We had to wait a week for parts, Bob put the small window AC unit in the kitchen window and since it weighs 100 lbs and lives in the garage under the work bench he put off moving it.

June 2017 he had a stroke. He could not move it, and would not allow me to aske someone to move it.

It has been there since. Blocking the Sunshine, Blocking the view of flowers and pool. For 4 years.

He removed it 2 days ago.

Every time I walk in the living area I say in a Loud Voice.

I love my kitchen! Because I do!

The sun comes in, the kitchen is bright.

That has caused more work because I could not see the dirt and grime until the sun came in.
that is ok. When my 10 minute timer rings, I get up and Clean.
Yesterday took all morning to read and comment on your posts
The timer went off and I cleaned the glass nook.
Last week, I was discussig  the handy man coming to give an estimate
and he wanted to know what type work he does
I turned and pointed to the AC and said like put that in the garage.

Last week the neighbor offered to put it in the garage but Bob's answer was I can do it myself.

Thursday, Bob said come help me move this AC in the garage. We bickered. I did what he asked and held my breath as he struggled to carry it to the garage.  We have no wheel barrow or wagon, he has two knees that are gone.

His face turned red, his legs shook, but he walked about 50 feet holding it.

Yes, I left the towel Bob drapes on the chair even though there is a towel rack outside and one in the corner of the kitchen. OH WELL! the books and papers on the table are the reason i am taking Sundays off.
Can you say TAXES?
I hate paper work, but I have a nice place to sit and do it.
In my bright kitchen.

I love your kitchen, too. Hurray for getting it back. 👍👏🙂

I wish we could find a handyman to take away our old printers, microwave convection oven, etc. sitting on our porch. If someone could just carry them down the stairs to our car we could probably manage to drive them to the recycling center and off load them ourselves. All of the new things we buy are a lot less heavy...we know our limitations. 🙂

I love your kitchen, and your dining room as well. Bright light is my thing, and I can never get enough of it. Your table & chairs reminds me of the ones on The Golden Girls. What is that blue light in your toaster oven? It looks like a T.V. in there.

I love your kitchen too! As for Bob, it’s a man thing I guess. We have similar conversations here :)

So typical of men & their egos!! Sometimes I don't know which is worse: over-working or sitting all day watching tv/reading.
Love the sun coming in to your dining room area thru the vertical blinds.

I understand how Bob feels. It's hard for a man who has been strong in every way to give in. Tom is exactly the same, he likes to think he can still do things but he can't. I end up doing all the heavy work and he feels awful about it.

Love your kitchen. It's so bright and cheery. That's a nice view from your table too.
Men are so darn stubborn when it comes to asking for help. I don't understand why they just can't admit that they need a little help sometimes.

Hello,

I love your kitchen too! It is bright and cheery! There comes a time when we need help. Thankfully my hubby realizes we need to call for the heavy movers to haul things away.
Have a happy day!

Hello Sandra!:=) Your kitchen is delightful, It looks light and airy
and it must be very pleasant to sit at your table,...not doing taxes though!

Heavy lifting is out for us both. Since Americo broke his back, he suffers back pain every day, and doesn't try to move anything heavy now.

It looks so sparkly clean! Like something in a television commercial.

I know what you mean about an "I can do it myself!" hubby. I held my breath when Tom gutted the old dishwasher and carried it outside -- and THIS is the same man who owns a dolly cart. Maybe it makes THEM feel a little better about themselves, but what's it doing to OUR hearts? (*smile*)

Men will be men will be men and women will be sensible. It's a wonder the world keeps spinning and ignoring the drama. I know all about sunlight and dust and crumbs and grime. Gonna make things right around here, but a day at a time. Gonna be sensible. I love your kitchen.

I love your clean and shining and bright kitchen. I'm sending my taxes to my tax person. She charges $105, which is usually what I get in return, so it evens out. I used to be good at it, but I really don't want to do it now. Good luck with yours. You are still using you brain, I wonder where mine went, sometimes.

But I have plans to go and find it. Will blog about that soon. And you are an inspiration. I will walk today!!!

The sunlight streaming in a window can turn almost any space into a welcoming place.

Sunshine on my shoulders always makes me happy....
Sparkly kitchen is wonderful. Mine rarely is shiny like yours.
I think Dave is finally realizing that his strength isn't what it used to be. It takes both of us to do some of the things he used to do himself.
Taxes are looming for me too. Sometime this month it will get done. Don't get anything back so I'm not in a great hurry to make myself crazy.
So glad your air conditioner is back in the garage.
Did the handyman come and fix the leaky faucet?
I guess I should say welcome back to Blog-dom. Miss you when there is no new post.

I love your bright, white, sunny kitchen and it's so nice and clean! I started by deep clean and declutter challenge today. I had planned on working 45 minutes and taking 15 minute breaks for computer time but here it is after three and this is the first break I've taken since 8am! :)

You have a beautiful kitchen (and a stubborn hubby like our Dad). Mom really wants to change all our cabinets to a creamy white shade. She wonders how you keep your counters so free of clutter:)

Why wouldn't he let you have someone move it. It looks so nice and bright in the kitchen. Can't believe you both moved it!! I like that plan of doing something every 10 minutes. I have to try something like that.

Ever since the Pres had his open heart, I always help carry, lift and or move the heavy stuff. He just doesn't have the lung capacity anymore. Even his youngest daughter mentioned it to me. He can no longer take the heat & humidity and he definitely cannot work in it. But your Bob, did what any good husband would do and now he knows you're happy...jp

Your kitchen is beautiful. I am alone now but in the next building to his same floor. I live in a studio apt. It was a miracle. I love it. I miss my darling to be with me to live here . Married 59 years. Sid gave me everything and every morning told me he loves me. Still tells me that he loves me. If I sound a little weepy please forgive me. I have my good days and my bad days but moving here is a blessing. An the ladies are very special. It is so nice to have true friends. And like you and your blogs.
