Not fragile like a flower, fragile like a bomb, read a slogan that often appeared on sweatshirts or knee socks at craft fairs, and below those words there would be a picture of Ginsburg. washington post article
Yesterday, I could have gone to jail for $9.96. I scan and check out my own groceries each Tuesday at Senior Early Bird Shopping at Walmart. During regular hours, they have a greeter that checks the basket un bagged items against my receipt.
since they trust us senior shoppers there is not one to check receipts.
I got to the car with 108.00 of stuff, all the bags were in and there sat 2 gallons of milk and 2 dozen eggs in the child carrier part. I just walked out without paying for them. I went back in the store and scanned them and nearly passed out from shock when it said $9.96 for the items.
Would they have believed me if I said I did not SEE those items .. I knew my short time memory is going but short time SIGHT?

You must have been really distracted at the time! I always just love seeing these! My favorite is the first one; it is like living in permanent summer. Of course that's what Florida is anyway.
Oh wow, that must have been a horrible feeling. I agree with Ginny, you must have been very distracted. Great murals. I like them all but I greatly admire Ruth Bader Ginsburg so she has my vote the lady or gentleman who painted her.
That pink house is pretty cool. I think we all have stories about things we forgot to pay for. F's best is a clear plstic bag of grapes she picked up when she dashed into the supermarket for something like bread and cheese. No basket, no trolley, she just carried them to the checkout and continued to cling to the bag while the operator rang up the other two items and watched F faff about getting her money out one-handed.....and F walked out and halfway home before realizing she was still holding a bag of grapes!
oooh that happened to me too... I saw that the cashier guy furgot a pack of coke... I went back and paid for it. he looked at me as if I have a green nose and said that happens very rarely.... why? if we pay too much, we walk back too and ask for adjustment....
I did that once with a case of coke.
Love those murals. The first and last are my favorite.
Love. Love, love the end of that last house. I have gotten to my car and found out I had not paid...I just go back in. But will say if it is under a dollar, i dont. I think that has happened once. I have gotten double charged enough on cans of catfood till they are still on the plus side because it was not worth walking back in for a few cents. Plus there have been a couple times there were dollars spent on meat that was not good..but to far to drive back fir $4 or 5..
I like those murals.
They fit perfectly in the warm Florida weather!

Oh yes, I join the brigade of bootleggers! As Ginny said, "Distraction". Nothing to do with menosoup... Lovely murals! YAM xx
Love the all the murals, I definitely have to visit there sometime. My husband accidently stole paper towels that were on the bottom of the cart a few weeks ago. He didn't go back in to pay for them. Yesterday he went to get our cases of water. I told him to grab 2 packs of eggs while he was there. On the way to his truck the bag of eggs slid off the top and he ran over them with the cart. I told him it was karma for not going back to pay for those paper towels lol. Don't ask me why he would put a bag of eggs up on top of four cases of water instead of carrying the bag on his arm is beyond me to begin with.
LOVE the parrots!
... and chuckling at everyone's 'true confessions.' You're a Good Person for going back. Hey, this way the security eye-in-the-sky won't be issuing a BOLO.
The only thing I can think of is one time we were unpacking groceries and discovered something that didn't belong to us ... and weren't charged for. Tom took it back right away, and was sure puzzled when Customer Service just 'looked' at him weird like, "Why would you do that?" Not even a 'thank you.'
I love the different houses!! Can't say I am a fan of Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
Fascinating art work on the houses.
I would find it hard to live across the street from the Ginsberg portrait..kind of scary looking to me.
Love everyone's True Confessions...I'm as guilty as everyone...
Great post today.

These houses go from quite artistic(the flamingo is wonderful) to a bit too much like some cars with zillions of stickers all over the body of the car.
As much as you go and with you having groceries in bags I bet they would have understood.

We love seeing those houses. That last one is beautiful.
Mom has done that once in a while. Sometimes something slips under her purse in the child seat. And yes, she is mortified as she heads back in to pay.

I like the first mural the best, and I laughed at the quote. Probably because I know some people who are fragile like a bomb. 🙂
Fun murals but I think the first one is a bit over the top. Glad you didn't get caught. I got stopped the other day because the scanner beeped when I left the store. I was worried because I bought pyjamas and only scanned the shirt and thought maybe I had to scan the pants too but no they let me through because a tag had been left on something and they removed it and I went on my way feeling like a robber.
Love them, thank you for sharing. Always enjoy seeing them.
Houses here are rarely painted with art as there are neighbourhood laws of dod and donuts. Even clothes lines around here are a don’t but one can put out a drying rack . One house recently did a whitewash on bricks and it looks so out of place.
Those are some interesting murals on the houses. I like most of the first house except for the weird writing side. Don't care for the 2nd one at all but loved the one with the birds. - Good thing you are an honest person. Here when we scan groceries there is always someone standing watching the scanners so you probably couldn't walk out without paying for something.
