In Search of Potassium

In Search of more Potassium in my daily food plan, I read from the list and found Peanut Butter and Raisins on the list. OH YUM. I love raisin bread, alas it all has sugar in it and I don't eat sugar.

I had 3 slices of French bread in the freezer. I toasted the bread in the toaster, stirred raisins in my Smuckers All Natural Peanut butter after heating it for 20 seconds in microwave and spread on the toasted bread.
The one without topping is Beaus Toast. I forgot to take the photo before we both dug in.
The finished product was within my 300 calories I allow for breakfast.
Try it on your favorite bread, even that heathy grain stuff.

I would tell you the rumor about what happens if you spread peanut butter on your toast, but then you might spread it.....😁😉😋

Cute joke! I love peanut butter, try it spread on those frozen waffles (toasted of course). I also made a sandwich of it and a bit of fluff, dipped it in an egg mixture, and made a french toast sandwich of it this morning.

Language is a funny thing - French Toast for us id bread that has been du ked in beaten egg and milk, fried in butter and served with cinnamon and sugar. As i read i tried to imagine peanut butter on top... saved by the picture. We use peanut butter in our meat dishes - the thicken beef stews and curries, and in satay of course.

Cute joke! I put a half banana in my daily smoothies and eat tons of the green veggies that are high in potassium (spinach, broccoli, zucchini) and lots of mushrooms too.

Clever compromise! I don't think I could eat a raisin if you held a gun to my head; good thing we won't ever be arguing over our food, huh? Since I don't trust myself to eat even a LITTLE bit of PB, guess I'll have to get my potassium from spinach and broccoli.
Cute joke!

You mentioned potassium and I immediately thought "banana." But then I remembered that you said you can't tolerate bananas.

I used to be a sugar-holic, but the older I get, the less I like sugar. I used to love Pepperidge Farm's cinnamon-raisin bread, but this morning, it suddenly tasted too sweet to me.

I am a peanut butter fanatic, but haven't tried it with raisins. My favorite snack is peanut butter and celery because celery is just plain boring on its own!

I am proud of you on your sugar deal...but you do know that bread has sugar in it...right?

Most things have sugars in it, but for me on my diabetic diet, I just can't eat raisins. Only time would be when my sugars crash and I need to raise them fast. But I have tablets for that. But good for you to not eat sugars. Sugar is a natural thing though it's just the processed kind we should stay away from. Errol's Creole relative invented the machine to process sugar back in the 1800s, we can blame him, I guess.

Sandra, it sounds yummy and I will try it (or something similar). Why do you take in so much potassium if you don't mind me asking?...jp

I have blueberries and banana smoothies three times a week. Breakfast
I love peanut butter on toast or English muffins. Raisins no not on peanut butter but raisin bread once IN awhile toasted.

lunch I like egg sandwich or salad with graded carrots, tuna or salmon out of can with sprinkle of sunflower seeds and cranberry's fresh in it.

I find all I seem to eat for supper as meat is chicken, Hamburg.

do you make meat casseroles Sandy if so share. I eat fresh salmon but now I am tired of it. What Tiger eats that is how I eat it. Not peanut butter. Interesting what people eat and like and not like.

Our Dad likes peanut butter on his toast too AND he LOVES cinnamon raisin bread. But we bet he wouldn't eat his toast if Mom put raisins on his pb:) Mom is REAL butter on her toast kind of gal.
