The Fence Tale part 1

Before the fence men cometh

Nov 12th 2020, Huricane Eta sideswiped us oh so gently, and a tree fell in our front yard, Prior Post.

Eta also felled our neighbor palm tree on our fence, the tree was right where the cross piece is and remained there for 3 months, after Hubby propped up the tree, and the fence.
Bob refused to pay someone to fix all this and take down the tree, because it was the neighbors tree and the other neighbors fence, the one where the Jungle was show in  Prior Post HERE The people who own the fence, don't care if its down, they can't use their back yard anyway.
We have a pool and a dog so the fence has to be repaired.

After the first section was removed.

The owner of The Tree, said he would pay to remove the tree, because after 3 months he was getting an all new fence and they could not put his fence up without moving the tree. OUR LUCKY DAY..

Lucky becasue the tree removal was 200.00 and We had already gotten an estimate to remove the tree and put up our fence which was almost 500.00... see what I MEAN... cost the same but not from us
three sections removed

His fence guy said, we could piggy back on the new fence, and he would put up our sections for 300.00 after they finished the new fence, and that if there were good sections, we could have them put up since they were better than ours.

Three men started at 8 am on Thursday, the first thing they did was remove 3 sections of our fence, that left us with no fence to contain Beau, the dog. At 1:30 he came over and said, I am so sorry, we can't finish today, we need more equipment and will be back to morrow at 8 am.

We were left overnight with the fence wide open but they showed up the next day and the new/old fence is there and I got more exercise because I had to walk Beau more times.

the photos below are photos of the Jungle Out there while the fence was down and if you enlarge you can see Robert removing the old rotted fence.
Interest NOTE... My hubby is Robert
The fence estimator was Robert.
The Three men that put up the fence for us, Two of them were named Robert.
For the rest of the story and pics of fence got to Fourpaws ETC
Beau's story is there

Seems everyone was happy in the end. Including Beau! Can't ask for more than that and the fence looks great. Welcome to March. YAM x

The view with the first panel down is like a glimpse into a secret garden - a landscaper's artifice, a view through a gap to draw the eye and imagination. Beau must have enjoyed his extra walks.

Must eat relief to get the fence fixed.

Hello Sandra

I am glad all things worked out for you and the neighbor. The new fence looks great too.
We have a big tree that needs to come down before it ends up in our home. You got a deal on the fence! Take care, enjoy your day!

Yeah, a new fence. It's a shame that you had to pay for it even though it's not your fence.
That sure is a lot of Roberts.

Sounds like everything worked out well in the end. We lost our old fence in the same storm.

I can only imagine the relief you feel...plus you and Beau made new friends. The way they were with Beau warms me all over.

All's well that ends well with a nice new fence.

What a relief! But gosh, all that stress ... ugh.
I'm trying to enlarge these pix to better see your concrete cherub(?) angel(?) reading his tablet(?). Pretty sure you've shown us before, but I can't remember. All we have is a silly concrete chicken the former owners left behind. Used to scare the girls half to death.

Now that's a whole lot of Roberts at the same time.
I'm so glad things worked out so well for you and Beau too.
Glad the "jungle" has been contained too. I think it's sad that the other people don't keep up their yard..lots of critters have probably found a comfy home.
Hope you survive your heat wave.

The song "Don't Fence Me In" came to mind as I was reading this post, but then that's exactly what you were hoping would be done. Glad the project got done without not too high a cost, Sandra.
