Walk A Mile Flowers Nature Friday

On one of my morning walks, I found these. No idea what they are, but the yard was full of them. Name This Plant Please.

While taking these photos with my cell phone, I pondered this question.

Do you think Sales of Cameras are down because everyone has one and doesn't need a camera?

I asked Google Search and the answer is YES! Details here titled How Smartphones devastated camera industry.

Judging by the leaves its a kind of aloe plant that is aslo quite common here in Piraeus. Ours are also flowering now.

PS what are those berries? The colour looks positively poisonous.

we have no clue about plants, we always name them after food... so we think we call it Lobster treat plant?

Isn’t that interesting? But not surprising as these smart phones take amazing quality photos. I was very surprised when I realized mine was better than my point and shoot camera, and when it broke I didn’t replace it and stuck with my phone. Your flowers I believe are the Chandelier plant or Kalanchoe and the second one which I have seen here in Virginia is an American beautyberry. Maybe other commenters can verify.

No idea what the flower is but it's pretty.
That doesn't surprise me about cameras. Even I stopped using my big camera once I got my new phone that takes good pictures. A phone is so much more convenient. to carry

I take my camera everywhere. And thought of buying a bigger lens! Smartphones are pricing themselves out of business in my opinion...while a camera lasts for years, a smartphone is quick to be outdated.

Have no idea what the flowers are.

Hello, Sandra

The flowers are pretty, not sure of their id.
I do not have a great smart phone with a good camera.
So I love my Canon SX 60 for my photos. Take care! Have a great day and a happy weekend!

Those flowers are beautiful. They remind me of Fritillaria. But not sure. When you Google them and look at images, none look quite like these...but there are so many different looking ones. Try to watch and see if the blooms open more.

I can tell you exactly what that it is... its a KALANCHOExHOUGHTONII hybrid. As another has told you, the berry is CALLICARPA, aka 'beautyberry'.

Yes, the photographer in me laments a bit about the rise of phone shots - then again, it still takes some skill to get shots of worth! YAM xx

That makes sense about the cameras. I have those plants popping up all over my yard right now. Some other here gave you the botanical name. Common name is Mother of thousands - https://garden.org/plants/photo/477706/

I didn't know the flower but I did recognize the beauty berries which are quite appropriately named.

Gorgeous! That's funny you mention camera sales. Day before yesterday I was telling Pamela (Closed Doors, Open Windows) how much I enjoy everyone's photos ... what does she have and was it hard to learn. Thinking I might have to buy myself a birthday present, but don't want to spend a lot of time fussing with lens, etc.

Pretty flowers, but I have no idea what they are. I have a cell phone and use it for pictures, but when I want really good pictures I use my camera. I would not want to be without my trusty camera. A cell phone will never take it's place.

The pink plant is kind of pretty.
I think the camera sales are down because of the phone myself.
Did I tell you Andy made the leap and got a new puppy? A yellow lab. WHO BITES EVERYTHING!

Yamini is so good at flowers!!I had no idea what they were, except they are so very pretty!!

I have to say that lately I do use my phone to take pictures of the pups but still use my big camera to do most of my landscape shots.

Happy weekend!!

I love the flowers. So pretty. Those berries are interesting too. I would believe that about the cameras. I never use mine but I do take it on trips in case my phone doesn't work for some reason.
