Bob's Brother continued. from Prior Post
In the prior post Bob said Keep the Statue, he's, my brother.
Hootin Anni commented He's ain't heavy, he's, my brother.
I can tell you this statue is heavy.
Ginnys question of what he is made of started a search that led to this post.
He is made of Plaster. I decided to find out who the statue IS, I mean besides being Bob's Brother.
Photo from distant past that I painted in PicMonkey. who knows why |
Per Internet He is......
Roman or Greek Male plaster image of Poseidon
Zeus Nordic Classic Figure
Nordic David Head of Greek Mythology
MOSES WINDSWEPT BUST VINTAGE CLASSIC CHRISTIAN
(it might be Moses, since looking into the eyes of the 1st photo, he looks like he is in mortal pain, maybe reading the 10 commandment tablets for the first time.
Or
Simply Bob's Brother found in hobby store and painted by bob's wife.
You can buy one from Japan, from China, or Ebay
I forgot to save the links from above. but then who cares.
The fun is HERE there are tons of these everywhere which means it has no value.
I found an old post, from 2012 when the Spectrum Lady came by to drop of our New TV Remotes.
She walked in the door and saw the Bust and while walking directly to it, she said I love it. I want it as she HUGGED BOB"S BROTHER.
I had forgotten her, but I did not get her name, or she could have it.
Thanks, Ginny, for the incentive to find all this nonsense.
Speaking of nonsense, as I sit here I am pondering WHY I painted the above beard yellow.

I love it! ❤️😀
We don't know whether thzt look is pain so much as "What the f....?" Sort of quizzical disbelief. That's our interpretation and we're sticking to it. 😽
If it is indeed Poseidon, maybe he thought the water was too cold for his wee-wee!!
So he could be just about anyone if it weren't for the fact that he is Bob's brother :)
I can't decide if he looks angry, annoyed, or like he's in pain.
Hello,
I am glad you have kept the statue of Bob's brother. I thought he has a look of surprise. Take care, enjoy your day!
Hari om
...or a pirate. You did after all make him Yellowbeard. YAM xx
I will always just think of him as Bob's brother lol.
This nonsense, as you call it, was fun to read.
Like Paul Harvey used to say, now we know the REST of the story! I'm going with Poseidon, for no other reason than I love the sea. We can call him Don, for short?
MOL MOL BOL at Anni's comment.
They say we all have a twin in the world.
Many years ago there was a lady we saw weekly when we used to go inside Panera every Friday for breakfast. Often I could sense she was kinda staring. Finally she asked me if I was from Germany. Thankfully I didn't choke on my coffee. What a surprise question. I said now I was a native of Raleigh. She told me I had a twin in Germany. LOL

LOL- OMGOSH- I love that you did all that research. Bob's brother is certainly a treasure-lol. It does look like Poseidon to me...but then what do I know?! xo Diana
You know I would have guessed a Greek God - how does it feel to live with one?
Fascinating...I think its Zeus or some Greek god too. He has that wild look to his eyes like he is a fierce warrior or something.
I like it but it wouldn't fit my "Debris" aka decor...
I think the yellow-green gives a certain mystery to the picture. You got the piercing eyes perfectly.

I looked up Moses Busts and it certainly looks like Moses to me. I love the story about the Spectrum lady.
This was a fun follow-up post about Bob’s brother, Sandra. And, to answer your question about why you painted his beard yellow, it’s because you could😀
Hello Sandra, :=) I'm glad you kept it. This was a fun post, honestly the things you get up to, provide us with loads of entertainment. The yellowy green beard reminded me of Poseidon as soon as I saw it, but after your post I shall always think of it as Bobs brother.:=)
Great story and as for the yellow beard? Artists go this way and that way and sometimes come up with yellow beards :)
