Yesterday I told you about the return of the stinky fish and the purchase of 2 rugs for the kitchen. Above Green container is the REASON I found the rugs. On the way searching for where they moved the containers since I last bought one SEVEN years ago.
The one on the right is the one I make my peppermint tea in at bedtime and sip it when I wake up for my IBS problems. Next to it is the NEW one, the green one is the one I dropped, and the green part cracked i half causing the black thing to its left to fall out on the floor. USELESS! It is now in the recycle bin.
I stood staring at a wall of insulated containers! The prices were screaming at me, and I could not decide what I wanted.
A 30 something young woman came to where I was standing, leaned up to put one back, it was 20 dollars. Lord Have Mercy. She had decided she did not need it at that price.
I said to her " what happened to the prices of these cups! we Started to talk, one thing led to another, and I said not only am I reading prices but I need one I can open. My fingers just will not open some of them.
She grabbed one of the silver one above and said Let me show you what my mother does. She has two of these and it unscrews easily, the place where you sip has a cover that you use like this and she showed me how to use 2 thumbs, I gripped it and practiced and as we chatted I saw a young 30ish man come racing up behind her looking like What the heck is taking you so long to put back a container?
He stood staring, we looked at each other an giggled the Men are so CRAZY look and she turned and left me to buy my new mug which I LOVE! The old one next to it cost 2 dollars this one was 13.00 dollars.. OUCH! but I did meet an really nice young woman who helped me. What is wrong with men that they don't understand how women talk?
Now I want to know how did stink fish end up sending me to Walmart Twice in an hour, and how did I return FOOD for FOUR Days and come back home with 2 rugs, a Coffee mug and a 2 Kaiser rolls that were never on the shopping list until AFTER I bought Bad Fish. Why did I now smell the fish in the store? or putting it in the car?

As far as I'm concerned, you cannot have too many trips to Wal-Mart. I have been to two of them in two different cities in the last 24 hours. Glad you got a mug you can work. I have bought ones that I am unable to open! And $13.00 is not that much, compared to some others. Some are $25.00!! I am loving your shopping post & and don't want them to end!
I have 2 yeti. One silver, the other copper. The only time I use mine is summer for smoothies. And I'm sure if mine breaks I'll stick to bottled water. 😉
those cups are crazy expensive. They are nice though. I use one at work for water and it stays cold all day. I've yet to use it for anything hot.
That is a good question. Why didn't you smell the bad fish in the car? :)
Hello,
The silver one does look nice. They are expensive, $25 is way too much for me.
Hubby and I have become frugal shoppers. I have the same problem trying to open things. Walmart is very good at taking returns. Take care, enjoy your day!
That is madly expensive re-useable drink containers. The last ones I bought here a couple of years ago were a couple of Euros - stainless steel double-hulled (for insulation) - sort of press button pop-top things to open the drinking spout. We did discover it doesn't pay to close them immediately you fill them with boiling water - you can't pop the opener and have to unscrew the top to release the pressure first.

I have a pint-sized insulated bottle/flask that I use rather than a cup for my overnight warm water. Maybe next time there is a sale, you need to pick up a couple of spares of these cups!
I admit I did wonder how you didn't smell the fish back in the store at the time... and I am guessing there is a post upcoming to explain that to us! YAM xx
FYI,every time I go to Walmart for just two or three things I end up.with a dozen. Then when I get home I think of something else I really needed.
Sandra we are so much alike or our minds are.
I get it about the cup.
I get it about the prices - everything is up!
And this I really et: What is wrong with men that they don't understand how women talk? My biggest issue.
We still place our order online and pick it up outside. Look how much money I'm saving! hahahaha!

I just had to come by today to see how you are doing. Ugh the fish smell!
It is becoming more common that food sit around in stores. Salads too and expiration dates no longer make a difference. It is sad. I have tried a few times to get used to reusable bottles but the taste is not right when I do so I am a mug person. For water I refill a used plastic bottle with filtered water from our fridge. I drink mostly water. Herbal teas and decaf drinks are very rare. No milk drinks either. No smoothies. Water is it. Shopping is hard now with vision going. Buddy guides me. He reads labels to me. Cool dude.
Men seem to do better talking to men lol.
I like that shade of green and I especially like you made a new friend. My Daddy used to say Mama went in the potty alone but always came out knowing the life story of many of the women in there. Daddy told her men DON'T talk when they are in the potty.

I imagine WM made out OK if you bought the rugs only after returning the fish. Errol was the talker in the family, he would talk to everyone, even in the dentist chair. I was reminded at the dentist the other day when someone chatted up a storm while having their teeth cleaned. I will definitely pay attention to individual prices when I shop next time. So far, I've just got a sticker shock at the check out.
Oh, those poor men-from-Mars! This reminds me of the impromptu conversation at WM I enjoyed the first week we were here. I'd helped this older gal reach something and before you know it, I was learning all about which eye doctors to see, who NOT to, yadadada. Like your encounter, Tom also came looking for me. I sometimes wonder what became of her.
I like the looks of your new cup! For some weird reason, however, I have to have one with a hole for a straw. My water/whatever just doesn't taste the same when I drink directly from the container.
I just bought two new mugs at Walmart yesterday...and YES, they are so very expensive!!
Looks like you got a nice mug.
I like mine and it has lasted a few years now. I think I got it at Walmart.
Well that was interesting about the mug. Glad she was able to help you. Sadly, I believe we will be paying more for everything in the future.
