Ants Be Gone

A few weeks ago, Ann of SnapEditScrap posted her vase of Peonies and said they had so many ants on them she had to take them back outside. I told her a few drops of dish detergent in water and swish them around before bringing them in would remove the ants.
So Said Google-Girl!
I brought this flower in and dipped it in soapy water and all the ants were gone.
Down the drain in the sink to swim in the Muck.
The Hibiscus can lie on a dish, in a bowl, or stand in water.

It will dead the next day no matter which you do.
Enjoy the flowers while you may.
I think they look better on the bush, with the zillion little ants running around

I do too. Ants chew open the Peony buds. Without the ants, the Peonies cannot bloom. It is a symbiotic relationship!

It's a good tip and I will try it next year if I can remember it. I rarely bring flowers in from outside though. I guess I would rather see them on the bush also.

I cut roses to bring inside but I get a little spider sometimes. We live in the wild here in Florida....don't we?

I found you!!! This isn't showing in my reader, but I remember when, a while back, you said something about letting us know if you were going to be absent.

GG comes to the rescue, once again! I wonder if 'she' doesn't have a name and a face. Things that make me go, 'hmmmm.'

Ants are not my friend either..but it is interesting to read the relationship between the ants and the flowers from Ginny. Actually that's quite amazing.
Love the color of these flowers. It's sad they only live 1 day when cut.

I like them kn the Bush and in the house, but I seldom cut a flower and bring it in. I would if I had lilac Bush, though.

I haven't seen any in years but back in Illinois our neighbor had them and he said the ants help them open up. Of course rinsing them off or dipping them in water is a great idea when you bring them inside.

It seems some flowers are best left on the plant and enjoyed there. I do enjoy cut flowers as well.
