Test Scores

I had a lot of fun reading your comments about natural ways to clean things.
Thanks for all the ideas.
I mixed 1 cup vinegar/1 cup Warm Water/1 drop dawn dish soap in a spray bottle and
I sprayed it on the sliding glass door, wiped with microfiber and gone are the nose prints.

In the past I used old newspapers which work best of all, but I canceled the newsprint in 2006.
no streaking! it also worked like magic on the microwave glass and trim and cleaned my stainless-steel sinks. This mixture also removed a spot from my desk chair.

You can make a little cleaning bomb by putting baking soda in the drain and pour vinegar on it.
Fizzy Bomb Helps the drains. Baking soda works great instead of Comet cleanser.
I used toothpaste to clean one of Bob's Silver Dollar
the one on the left is the one I cleaned.
this works great on my silver rings. It works on just about any shiny jewelry, including diamonds, if only I had any to test, I would have.

Baking Soda, Vinegar, Toothpaste and Dawn get Five Stars from MadSnapper.
Lemon Juice and Salt will clean stains from your sink and Lemon juice is a great natural cleaner and removes the smell of onions from your hands.

Tigger suggested Elbow Grease is really good, but I could not find any.
😋😋😋
I am laughing out loud as I type this post, Bob just yelled down the hall:
"are you still cleaning with vinegar? Why is the smell so strong?
I ignored the question, I just spent two hours cleaning half the house with vinegar.
Heh Heh Heh! Get used to that smell.
Maybe we could go out to eat with all the $$$ I saved.

Awesome! You are now the Queen Of Chemistry! I used to clean the counters with lemon jnuice. But, it leaves a big light mark, like it bleaches them.

I use vinegar for cleaning too, in toilets and in drains and your house must be sparkling clean today, even if it smells rather vinegary.

Good morning Sandra, Bob's silver dollar looks great after you cleaned it with toothpaste. The smell of vinegar is quite strong, and lingers for just a couple of days, and then I don't smell it any more. When Mel was ill, she vomited a lot, but the solution of warm soapy water with vinegar took all the stains away and disinfected at the same time..I still haven't cleaned carpets with your remedy yet.My ribs are giving me a lot of pain lately.

My dad used to use newspapers to clean windows.
I just might have to try this mixture if I can get myself to do any cleaning...lol

I use baking soda & vinegar to clean silver rings & tableware. Works like a charm and no harsh chemicals like the store-bought cleaners. Now, where do we meet for dinner?

Hello,
I have used the baking soda and vinegar in every drain in the house.
I do not mind the smell of vinegar, I use the same Vinegar, water and a little dawn in a spray bottle for cleaning everything. Take care, enjoy your day!

I wish I'd known about the cleaning bomb last week when both our kitchen sinks backed up! Dumb question, perhaps, but any particular kind of toothpaste?

We all learned a lot in the cleaning post. I like the ECOS brand of laundry detergent and dish soap (and spray) though and it smells good!

I am saving this.
So what do you use instead of newspaper - the microfiber?
On sneakers the white rim - I have used toothpaste - takes off the black marks. And on jewelry and rings too.

I keep spray bottles of Vinegar/Water in the bathrooms and kitchens! I also like a peppermint or cinnamon oil/water mist to mask the smell(like Bob, I'm not a big fan of vinegar smell).

I have got to get busy and do some of this cleaning asap, especially the drains. Not fond of the vinegar oder but will try a bit when its not so darn hot. It is suppose to be 108F by Saturday. Won't be going out or opening any windows. Cleaning will have to wait.

Apparently you can put strips of orange skin or lemon skin in your vinegar spray bottle and the citrus oil helps modify the vinegar smell. Tigger has never applied elbow grease to anything either, but he has caused more than one stain that needed some. xxx F

Amber has done the baking soda and vinegar. Yes, newspaper was great. I use toothpaste on my jewelry. I need to try the lemon juice and salt on my sink. Thanks for your suggestions.
