The Last Day for Red Dog

Above On Day 3 before the Big Storm came, this is what the house looked like/ those are new boards he was adding after removing the old rotted ones. Below is the corner when he started and the after

On the last day of Roofing Adventure, Simon backed the truck in, climbed in the back of the pickup and stepped up on the roof.

You cant see how handsome he is, and some of you wanted to see the roof, this is as good as it gets, the roof is not flat, but this is all I can see with out standing in the back of the truck.
I stood talking to him and he said they are done.
He left and the roofers rolled up the giant tarp they used on stormy days.
NOTE! the storms left and have not been seen since the day before they complete the roof

roof from the back yard

This was Saturday morning, nothing left to do except the dumpster to be picked up on Monday, which means bob's Truck is still trapped behind it and has been for 9 days. He is Not Happy
The roof line in the palm and all the way accross on the bottom, was replaced with a new rafter and we can't even tell they did it. the Man on bottom right of collage above did all the rotted wood replacement, 10 sheets of plywood and 2 rafters on front, and a few pieces of rafters under the plywood. I watched him do it with my own eyes. He is a master craftsman
The extra work that was not on the quote for the roof was only $1238 for material and labor.
A Fair Price.

Of course now that they are done, there will be no more rain. You stood up in the truck bed?! I cannot even get up inside a truck at all!

Isn't that the way it goes with the storms. When you aren't worried about them coming that's when they decide they aren't.
Good job on the roof and I know that is a big relief to have it done and over with.

Hello,
I am glad you got a fair price for the extra work. That is a lot of wood to be replaced. Now, it will be done when they move the dumpster. Bob needs to see his truck. Take care, enjoy your day!

Well darn. I tried enlarging that picture to see Simon/McDreamy better, but no luck. I'll take your word for it! I'm happy at least you found some eye candy to take away some of the bitter taste of all that $.
Like my late blog friend Rich would say, the cost of Doing Life.

Just realized today that I'm not seeing your posts on Feedly lately either. But have caught up with your Roof Story now - what a thriller! Glad you got it done and over with at last, though. Even if there will be more noise to put up with from neighbours' houses, at least it won't be on YOUR roof now.

It looks great and I know you are so happy to have it done! These guys are SO good and it's a hot job for sure! I feel blessed when I get good workers to do something I can't do.

They did a great job, and I only hope by now that dumpster has been picked up.

How fun to see your house, I enlarged all the photos, just to see. Nosy me. Seriously though, I'm glad that it's all done and that the roofers were nice so you had a basically good experience.

Thank goodness things are finished. Red Dog is a great company from all you have said.
By now I'm sure the dumpster is gone and Bob can relax and so can you.
What an "adventure" but needed...Sorry about so much cost. It should be good for the next 20 years!!

I'm glad to hear that it is done and hopefully this will be the last issue you have for a long, long time. It's a shame how much it costs!

It sounds as if they did a great job, and it's over now!
