Light Bulb Moment

AI and I  using Bing Image Creator

I shopped Walmart this past week end, and it only took 30 minutes to get everything on the list. On the way home I pondered why it usually takes an hour to shop and only 1/2 hour this time.

As I pondered, I thought, I did not see a single Walmart Friend today. No night manager, no fun cashier at the self check out, no little Asian lady, no Same age as me lady and no friend from YMCA or the man I worked with before retirement.

A light bulb moment hit my senior brain, The reason I am done early is......        I talked to NOT ONE PERSON.. I feel cheated...

But now after having typed this post, I realized how diverse my friends are and that makes me feel happy.

Cashiers are young, night manager is male and African American, the tiny lady I meet in Publix also, is Asian and has a husband that i the twin to mine, the friend from YMCA is the age of my oldest son and the former co-worker is male and the age of my youngest son.  I LIKE THEM ALL...

LESSON LEARNED: If I am in a hurry, don't shop at 6 am on Saturday.

It's Sunday and this is the Baptist church I took photos of on our last Sunday Drive by, Ride the Dog, Cell Phone Shoot from the car windows.

I liked your description of all the people you talk to. I enjoy the diversity we have in our area too. Enjoyed your post as always. You always make them interesting.

Forgot to mention your drive-by of the church. Two nice photos of a pretty building.

Wow, you went to Walmart and didn't talk to anyone? Is this a first? I mean I go all the time and don't talk to anyone but you? That's just unheard of :)
That's a nice looking church.

We may be diverse externally and in some of our practices but under the surface we are all the same, people just trying to get by.

The churches are a lot different to the ones here

Hello,
We rarely see anyone we know while shopping. So usually we get our shopping done and are out of there. We do talk the the cashier, over the years we see them at least once a week. That is a pretty church!
Take care, have a great day!

Hi Sandra :=)
I like this post. You are a people person warm and real, that's what I like about you. My daughter does my shopping so I don't get to speak to anyone. The church is a lovely building.

Well at least you were done shopping quickly. I never run into any locals because we don't know any locals. I think the pharmacy people are familiar with me but we don't actually share stories or anything.

I love how you make friends from every walk of life! I'm proud to be a member of your United Nations!

PS - Come to think of it, it's a good thing I'm not inclined to segregate my own. (Unless someone's talking about animal lovers v. "non", then all bets are off the table.)

Diversity is what makes America a great and interesting country. Those who can't understand that are missing out.

YOU are such a people person!!!
I am friendly but it doesn't bother me to go all day several days in a row without talking to anyone - other than Louis Dean, of course!
