Bradenton has quite a few Spanish Style homes, which were very popular in the 1920's. Awnings help with keeping our bright sunshine out of the homes and helps with lower AC bills.
The area that surrounds the village, and is a few blocks from our home is where many of them are built. I took these on the way back home because I like them a lot.
I might just go on a Spanish Home Drive By Photo Shoot. There are hundreds of them.
Should I or should I not, this is the question.

I like them all except one. And what is that curb in the yard in the first photo? I would like a tour!

Yes! 🙂 YAM xx
Not only do I like the architectural style but also the trees and greenery around the houses. A tour
around this area would be interesting.
I say go for that photo shoot. It will be an adventure in Spanish architecture :). I like the first house but not so much the second.
Nice tour of the houses! The trees are pretty too.
Take care, enjoy your day!
I think you should arrange a tour, Sandra, with each homeowner getting into the spirit of the Spanish nature of it, and providing tapas, and margaritas and sangria. I am sure it will be a big hit. You will probably be on the local news!
I think you should...
Of course you should. Think of how much blogging material it would provide you with... ;-)
The awnings are a good idea. I wish I had them on the afternoon sun side of my flat in summer. Not just now though, as it's still snowing...!
I like the architecture of the Spanish style homes...
Especially the edge around the roof

I wonder what that curb is too. I think I like the art houses a little better than these myself.
Parts of your town must be similar age to towns I grew up in in NZ - those houses were popular in the 1920's in NZ. I like them but the flat roofs are often a problem to keep weather proof.
Of course you should!!
Love that era of architecture :-)
I vote yessss! While these aren't show-offy or dazzling by today's standards, I think they're charming and inviting. And probably built a lot better than modern residences.
Snap on!
Of course you will do a "Drive By".. you thought of it so I know you will do it.
Quaint homes..looking forward to seeing more.

I like these tours. These are nice drive-by pictures. I like the architecture of these places.
Always on the go, you do find interesting and inviting properties to share. I like the one with the terrace, good for sunbathing in a birthday suit. Share more please!
I like those! When we were moving here we visited a Spanish mansion that was for sale. Oh, we could never afford it but it sure was fun looking around.
Yes, please do give us a tour! I like them all except the middle one with no awning or overhang. We need protection from the hot summer sun.
Those are some square homes.
These are great! Yes I would love a tour!
They are cute homes. I know my aunt had one in San Diego, CA that looked like that. It had belonged to her in laws so it was probably built during that same time frame.
We agre - YES!!! Momloves the awnings but they aren't allowed where we live - must be the winds or something.
