Harvest Moon and the Sunrise

moonshine at 2:30 am back yard

Tuesday, Sept 18, Beau came to the side of the bed at 2:50 am and said Breakfast Time.
We walked down the hall in the dark and low and behold I thought I had left the flood light on in the back yard, the blinds were closed but lit up and it was bright out there.
I opened the blinds and low and behold there was a ginormous HARVEST MOON.
photo from Picmonkey Shutterstock
I took the photo of the blinds in the dark, and later grabbed the above Shutterstock free moon photo and took it to Lunapic just to show you how it looked reflecting on our pool
When I stepped outside I could count the grains of sand at the bottom of the pool

created in Lunapic not my photo

Three nights in a row of MOON SHINE on the pool and the morning of Sept 19th OH WOW
It rained cats and dogs from 2;30 to 3:30 AM, and we had to wait until after 7 to walk with Beau.
by noon on Wed the blinds were closed to keep out the Florida Branding Iron Sun.

Fast Forward to the next morning, Sept 19th.

looking west

Beau and I were walking West towards the beaches, and it was strange because it was a stunning view and it never has color in the sky. pretty clouds over the beaches but their color is in the evening..
I took a couple of photos and turned around to head EAST into the sunrise.

looking east

I actually gasped out loud when we turned, our house is to the left around the corner. I asked Beau to stay, and I wished for someone nearby to gasp with me. Beau did a pretty good gasp, because we stood at these 4 way stop signs and waited on 6 cars to pass in front of us.
Not one of them looked to see what I was taking photos of.
Their loss.

You've got a little bit over everything covered here. Moonlight, rain and beautiful morning skies.

I forgot to say that if Gibbs were to try and tell me it was breakfast time at 2:50 am I would tell him to go back to bed and try again later...lol

Wow, beautiful sunrise images. It was cloudy here , we missed seeing the full moon. Great collection of photos. Take care, have a wonderful day!

Wow! I gasped! Did you hear me?
I love this time of year. The sky is so beautiful.
I woke up early today for once (4:00). Couldn't go back to sleep but that's OK. Gives me time to drink coffee, read God's Holy Word, and think about 'things'. Sure wish you were here right now. I could use someone else's advice (not that I'd listen, but maybe something good would stick). lol
Y'all have a great day. Pray for me that I'll listen to Jesus, 'k? Thanks kuz'n. 💙

Worthy of a gasp or two to be sure. A stunning sunrise by any standards.

I couldn't sleep the other night... It was also quite warm, compared to other nights this week. I cracked the back door of the van for airflow... And wondered what spotlight had been fitted in the carpark? Getting out for a stretch, I realised the "super trooper" was in fact the full moon!!! A stunner for sure. YAM xx

How unfortunate that many people might have missed such a beautiful sunrise, Sandra. This was truly a stop and gasp moment even better than the harvest moon in my opinion and you captured it beautifully to share.

Oh! Now that's quite the "moonwalk"! I am "over the moon" with your sunrise/moon pictures! I gasped as well! What a lovely lovely spectacular vision! God's colors in the skies...you don't have to use your picmonkey thingy to make that look great! God did it for you! Wow! Thank you for sharing these with us. Beautiful morning!!! I slept in this morning and missed the moon on the pond, but that's okay, I needed the sleep because I was up so early the last two mornings out there running around in the dark taking pictures of it. I'm glad you shared these. This made my morning start right!

I gasped at the beauty both ways myself. That was absolutely a beautiful painting. People are always in a hurry and they don't know why! lol

That definitely was a strong moon. I wish I would have seen that moon. How awesome to see that 3 nights in a row. The moon is usually to the front of our house which we don't see at night. That's a beautiful morning sky. Love the photos. Definitely their loss!

Gasp-worthy for sure! God is sure the ultimate artist, isn't he? I was telling Pam last evening, how (I think) it's so neat -- all of us looking at the same thing at the same time in different places. I feel sorry for those people who don't make time to look.
