Friday, May 16 UPDATE on Bob

Friday started out as a horrid day, I will simply say, Bob woke up with diarrhea.. nuff said.. There is a slim chance, Bob will get better at walking, but no chance of his health getting better. We are on the downhill slide and will take each day as it comes.
(you might want to buy stock in Lysol Wipes, peroxide, antibacterial wipes and hand soap, and
Because I am using these at an alarming rate and their stock should be rising and thank you Debby at Just Breathe, for introducing me to add water, no rinse and dry sponges.

I love these sponges and am using them for myself also. Yes, I still digress.. ha ha

I had been awake since 2:30 in a semi panic attack, going over our needs, the major ones, things that were easy now overwhelm me,
pool repairs, yard work, someone to come and work cheap, expensive grab bars in both bathrooms,
On 6:30 walk with Beau, walking along fighting tears, I prayed out loud and simply said, God, I need help, several times. I walked and thanked God for each blessing out loud, Beau, being able to walk him, on and on with the blessings. I thanked him when I asked my son Dan if he could install grab bars, his answer was yes, I had done dozens at work, tell me what you want done and we will come down and do it.
Fret one down.
It occurred to me, God is not Santa and will not just fix things, that I needed to DO something first and use his guidance.
I sent a text to my cousin's son in law about the pool, he called me last night and after photos sent by cell and 20 minutes of talking, he said you need a breaker installed in your panel and a timer on the wall, and it will work, but you should replace the filter with a cartridge one, not dirt. I can't do the breaker you need and electrician. I said can Joey do this?
he said yes, call Joey. Joey is my cousin's son. I texted Joey and he said he will call me tomorrow. Bob did not freak out about that, he knew it needed something. That is a miracle.

I sent a text to friend Karla, asking if her neighbor that does her yard for 40 dollar a pop, goes to others homes. She replied she would text Harry and ask if he knows someone, that he only does the neighborhood so that he can ride to their houses on a mower.
10 minutes later, she said Harry said his friend Rob, was there at his house and he does some homes, he would ask him.
Meanwhile, Angel the therapist is working with Bob, and he is aptly named ANGEL. Outside my window I see a SUV pulling a trailer, with a small push mower on the trailer, slowly driving by the house looking and gone. Angel stands up to leave and the Suv comes back, stops across the driveway and a man gets out, looking at our yard.
Angel goes out and asks him to move so he can leave, he pulls forward, and when Angel leaves he backs in the driveway.
I got outside and asked, "Are you Karlas friend?
He mutters, don't know Karla. I say what do you charge to mow? He mutters, let's see what you need and we walk front and back, me pointing to leaves to be mulched, weeds all over back yard, and the front and side mowed.
We walked back out front and he took the mower off, and I said again, "What do you charge?" His answer was I will get this done for you and cranks the mower and starts to work. The man spoke 20 words the whole time I chattered like a magpie.

He worked for an hour and we guessed at what price it would be and I peered from all the windows giving Bob a running tale of what he was doing.
HE did ALL of it, everything I showed him. He edged the front yard, after mowing, weed whacked. I saw him put the lawn mower on the trailer, went to get money, and Bob said I am thinking 100 dollars will be the charge. I opened the door to go out
and he was gone, the tail of his SUV nearly out of sight. No name, no price, no charge, no phone number.

I text Karl the story, she says wow, that's weird. Maybe he did not want to come back. I will let you know if I hear from Harry.
10 minutes later, she texts, Harry says his name is Rob/Robby, this is his number, when it needs to be done again, call him and he will do it for $25. He did it for free and the charge for again is beyond amazing.

I put Robby-Yard Man and the number in my phone and bowed my head and said Thank you Lord for this blessed day... The things are not done, but in the works and I know who I am dealing with, not strangers.

Angels are real! Amen!? God answers prayer. This is why I and so many others are praying for you. Wow. I'm sorry this is so trying but it's heartwarming to see how God answers prayer. It sounds like you have more than one angel around you. You've got a whole network of them working to help you. I love that. You are so right about God not being like Santa. He does require that you put in some effort sometimes. But it's nice to have Him there to guide you in the right direction.
Sorry about your day getting off to such a bad start. That is not a fun way to start out.

What amazing answers to prayer, bing bang boom! God is able, and we often hesitate to "call on Him", oftentimes leaving Him as a last resort. But when we call on Him first, He takes care of lining things up and providing the answers we need. He gives us clarity so that we can think and function and get up our courage to ask others to help. I find in life that people really do want to help, they just need a little nudge from God and we provide the nudge when we pray and seek God's direction as to where to go, who to call, and what to do. This is so powerful today. Thank you for sharing this with us, Sandra. We will keep praying. God is working...and we are all being blessed and encouraged. (((hugs)))

There are still kind people in this world it seems. I am happy that in the midst of all that is going on someone stepped up to help. Thanks for the tip to buy stock in these care products, Sandra. I’ll get right on that! Stay strong as best you can. With my very best wishes - David

Big healing hugs and prayers all around. ♥

Hello, Sandra
I am keeping you and Bob in my prayers. I hope Bob is able to walk better with the help of therapy. You were blessed with all your "angels" from your son, to the pool guy and Rob the lawn guy. Take care and stay strong.

Oh Sandra, I'm so sorry things are so hard now and I'm keeping you both in my prayers. I know God will help you and guide you to do what needs to be done...and give you strength. Take care of yourself through it all and don't worry about things out of your control. Hugs to you both, Diane

Oh girl, your testimony here is more powerful than many I've heard on Sunday mornings! Nevertheless, the story of Rob/Robby is almost unbelievable. I thought for a moment, he was an angel who came, then disappeared without a trace, never to be seen again. (After months of hinting, then stewing and NAGGING, Tom's finally agreed to hire out the tree trimming, mowing and heavy lifting.)
I'm soooo glad Dan's agreed to come install the grab bars properly. I just don't trust those stick-on ones they advertise.

Thank you God for helping Sandra!

Sandra thank you for the update. Prayers are powerful, walking Beau gave you the clarity you needed to know exactly what help was required. The grass cutter is an angel among us...as are all the friends coming to your aid

So sorry to hear about Bob. Breaks my heart and I think about you all the time. I can't even begin to imagine how you are feeling each day. You are welcome about the dry sponges. I like that you had your conversation with God. Those are important and I pray He gives you some peace. Glad you hear that Dan will help you. I'm glad to hear that you may have some help with the pool. Interesting about the lawn mower guy stopping over, doing the work and then leaving. Wow, that's a great price. That was a beautiful blessing from God.
Love, Debby

I truly believe that God sent an angel to help you with your needs. This is not something that just happens...It was a God thing. I am overjoyed for you about this. I have found that there are people willing to help, but sometimes they just don't really know of the needs...I am glad you made these phone calls and the help is on the way for you. Praise God for His Blessings..

That's good news in the midst of chaos, that you have some support and help from various Angels now :) - I'm in a bit of tech chaos at the moment trying to set up a new tablet (my old one refusing to update certain apps any more) but feeling my own brain needs updating too!

Maybe the mysterious Mower Man was an angel. Because why would he all of a sudden be in your driveway for no reason, the no charge and leave. Angel in disguise.

You needed help and asked and it was received, Sandra. This was a beautiful post all around, even though the news about Bob was disheartening. I hope that the angels continue to be there for you and you should also include yourself.

Sandra, ask and you shall receive. God's angels find you! I learned that while I was taking care of my husband. Leaning to let go is the hard part. Living with an attitude of gratitude is my lifesaver. Keep being awesome my friend. Love Barb

You've met some angels through all this. They don't all wear wings on the outside. Thanks for the update. I'm sorry things are so hard right now. Praying those angels will keep coming. Just remember you are an amazing woman with your own set of wings not everyone can see but your friends out here do. God Bless!

The Lord Hath Provided! So many of the psalms and other scripture speak of the same providential care. Wait upon the Lord. Also Ps 46.
Thanks be to God, for the care and blessings he has bestowed on you and Bob and Beau. You have a wonderful family and their friends have joined with them. Love in action!

Hi friends, there are angels all around us. I see them all the time! (My person only sees them sometimes, but humans get worried and forget to trust that the angels are there.) We are sending you and Bob all the POTP that we have to share in this hard time, and sending a few extra angels your way as well. <3

I read your post with tears. Oh my. You are pulling a load of responsibility up a hill. God is taking care of you and providing your every need. I will be praying for you and Bob (and Beau), knowing that God answers prayer.

At last some things have been going right for you. So nice to hear about your kind helpers. Bars in the bathroom are a boon. WE also have a shower chair and toilet rails. These are provided by the government agency called "My Aged Care". We also get podietry and cleaning done by a government provider called "Blue Care"for a small charge. Do you have government help for aged people? So glad your prayes were answered.

Your faith is great, and God is good. Just like when Jesus did miracles, he has done for you to increase your faith. Praying for strength for you not only to care for Bob but to have peace in how it's all progressing. I know it will take a lot of faith...lots of love to you all (Beau's included in this) Amy
